About the Role

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to build, lead, and grow a mid-sized software development team working on Android Platform. In this role, you will set the engineering strategy and keep it aligned with business priorities, while staying hands-on with Android and embedded systems.

You will lead the development and commercialization of Qualcomm products built on the Android platform, and you will own delivery from architecture all the way through to deployment and support. This position also involves working closely with teams in different countries and time zones, so strong collaboration across locations is important.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and commercialization of Qualcomm products built on the Android platform.

• Take part in the architecture, design, development, and commercialization of Android-based products on the Snapdragon chipset.

• Guide feature design, implementation, debugging, and system integration to make sure the team delivers high-quality work on schedule.

• Lead code reviews, regression testing, and issue triage to maintain strong engineering standards and good product quality.

• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and project teams so that technical work stays aligned with the wider product and program goals.

• Write and review technical documentation for software components and features. This supports development,integration, and long-term maintenance.

• Build, lead, and grow software and firmware engineering teams, and set the engineering strategy so that it matches business priorities.

• Work smoothly with teams located in different countries and time zones, and support effective collaboration across all locations.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 17 or more years of experience building and leading software development teams (20 or more engineers), setting engineering strategy, and keeping it aligned with business priorities.

• 12+ or more years of experience in the Android domain, with a strong record of building high-performance software for embedded devices, together with strong hands-on technical skills.

• Strong knowledge of Android Framework constructs, System architecture and Core building blocks like AIDL/HIDL, Binder, system and vendor services, and Java/JNI integration.

• Strong background in Linux OS internals with system-level programming. This includes good understanding of multithreading, concurrency, DMA/ION meory handling, IPC mechanisms such as Binder and gRPC, and zero-copy architectures.

• Proven development experience across both embedded Linux and Android software stacks.

• End-to-end experience across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support.

Educational Qualification

You must meet one of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and 18 or more years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

• Master's degree in Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and 15 or more years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

• PhD in Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and 13 or more years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
