WordPress Administrator – Global Wave Group
Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based)
Reports to: Global Marketing Manager
Role Purpose
The Website Administrator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and basic configuration of the company’s websites built on WordPress. This role ensures that all website content is accurate and up to date, pages load smoothly, security is maintained, and the site supports ongoing marketing campaigns and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the WordPress admin dashboard, including pages, posts, menus, media library, and user roles.
- Publish, update, and organize website content (e.g. text, images, videos, downloads) in collaboration with marketing and content teams.
- Ensure website pages display correctly on desktop and mobile devices, and across major browsers.
- Manage WordPress themes and plugins, including installation, configuration, basic troubleshooting, and keeping them updated.
- Coordinate with developers or external vendors when advanced technical changes, custom features, or bug fixes are needed.
- Monitor website performance (e.g. loading speed, uptime) and work with relevant teams or hosting providers to resolve issues.
- Perform regular backups and support basic security practices (e.g. plugin updates, password policies, security scans).
- Assist in setting up and maintaining tracking codes and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
- Support landing page creation for marketing campaigns (e.g. promotions, webinars, events).
- Ensure website content follows brand guidelines and is consistent in style, tone, and visual presentation.
- Maintain basic on-page SEO elements (e.g. titles, meta descriptions, alt tags, URLs) according to marketing or SEO guidance.
- Document key website procedures and maintain simple operation manuals to support team members using WordPress.
Essential Requirements
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, IT, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience managing websites using WordPress admin (corporate or marketing sites preferred).
- Solid understanding of WordPress basics (e.g. themes, plugins, widgets, menus, page builders, and media management).
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is preferred; able to make simple layout or style adjustments when necessary.
- Familiarity with website hosting, domains, and DNS settings is an advantage.
- Experience working with Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple update requests while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Good communication skills, and able to work with marketing, design, product, and technical teams.
- Fluent English proficiency (reading and communication) to understand plugin documentation, admin interfaces, and support articles; ability to speak Chinese is an advantage.
Desirable
The ideal candidate is experienced with WordPress admin, comfortable managing themes, plugins, and content, and can coordinate with designers, developers, and marketing staff to keep the site stable, professional, and user-friendly.
