Audubon is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Project Manager will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of complex and/or large projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
- Effectively applies Audubon methodology and enforces project standards.
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Manages the project budget.
- Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for projects.
- Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
- Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, efficiency and utilization.
- Remains completely accessible to client 24/7 during life of project and provides single point of contact, ensuring specific requests are processed timely and appropriately.
- Drives Management of Change philosophy and enforces corresponding procedures.
- Manages the overall execution of T&M or small to midsized (<$50MM) EPC projects.
- Supervises project engineers, coordinators and admins.
- Participates as a contributing member of assigned Business Unit.
- Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.
- Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her full potential.
- Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
- Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
- Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Leads and/or acts as a member of internal teams/task forces.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
- All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
- Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
- Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree AND 7+ years of On-the-Job Training Education.
- Preferred: BS Engineering, MBA.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience as a Project Engineer or similar role.
- Experience Preferred: 10 years of field experience working within the Oil & Gas or Hydrocarbon Processing industries.
- Organizes and develops highly functional and effective project teams.
- Works to instill a sense of project ownership and accountability in the project team.
- Coordinates and works with other departments (Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance and Accounting) to ensure the timely delivery of quality goods and services which meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Provides active coaching and mentoring to Project Engineers and/or Coordinators assigned to him/her. Takes an active role in developing their skills and progressing them professionally.
- Identifies opportunities for team member improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
- Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
