Responsibilities
The Technology Project Manager is accountable for leading the successful delivery of the organization’s strategic technology initiatives. Combining strong leadership, project management discipline, and technical acumen, this role mobilizes diverse teams, aligns business and technology stakeholders, and drives complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation and value realization. Key responsibilities include:
- Drive end-to-end execution and leadership of complex technology initiatives, ensuring delivery against defined business objectives.
- Build alignment across technology, business, architecture, leadership, and external partners.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable project plans, milestones, deliverables, and accountabilities.
- Own project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and overall delivery performance.
- Proactively identify and resolve obstacles, escalating critical decisions and risks when appropriate.
- Maintain transparency through effective project governance, status reporting, stakeholder communication, and decision management.
- Advance Project and Solution Management practices by strengthening standardized processes, governance, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
- Level I: 5-7 years of project management / IT / engineering experience
- Level II: 7+ years of project management / IT / engineering experience
- Proven ability to lead and organize projects from discovery through deployment that deliver business value.
- Strong leadership and strategic acumen with the ability to navigate ambiguity, drive decisions, and translate business needs into actionable workstreams.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams, engage executive audiences, and influence without authority.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading projects within an IT organization.
- PMP® (Project Management Professional) with active certification status or equivalent certification.
