We are looking for an experienced and ownership-driven Product Manager – Developer Tools to take product initiatives from discovery through release and adoption. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where product managers are expected to understand user problems deeply, make clear prioritisation decisions, write precise product requirements, and work closely with Engineering and Design to deliver meaningful outcomes.
This role is suited for a product professional who has already shipped real products and is ready to take significant ownership of a product area, particularly within technical, developer-facing, API, or software tooling environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Own a product area across discovery, definition, prioritisation, roadmap, release, and post-launch adoption.
- Develop a clear understanding of developer workflows through customer conversations, community feedback, GitHub issues, support themes, and product usage data.
- Conduct customer and community discovery through interviews, issue analysis, and structured synthesis of user needs.
- Write clear and actionable PRDs, product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Break complex problems into practical, shippable increments and maintain realistic product roadmaps.
- Partner closely with Engineering to define scope, evaluate technical trade-offs, resolve ambiguity, and drive delivery.
- Collaborate with Design on user flows, edge cases, error states, and overall product experience.
- Define product success metrics before launch and evaluate whether releases deliver measurable improvements.
- Drive release readiness across documentation, changelogs, community communication, and support enablement.
- Analyse recurring customer problems and convert insights into prioritised product opportunities.
- Make clear prioritisation decisions and communicate why specific requests or initiatives are included or excluded.
- Use product and usage data to identify trends, validate assumptions, and support product decisions.
- Mentor junior Product Managers and interns on product thinking, problem structuring, writing, and engineering collaboration.
- Contribute to internal product tools and processes that reduce friction and improve team productivity.
- Stay closely engaged with developer communities to understand emerging needs, workflows, and pain points.
- Support continuous product improvement based on customer feedback, adoption data, and market developments.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT• 3–6 years of experience in Product Management, ideally with experience working on technical, developer-facing, API, or software products.
- Proven track record of shipping products or significant features and owning the decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes involved.
- Excellent product writing skills with the ability to transform ambiguous problems into clear, structured, and actionable specifications.
- Strong understanding of product discovery, prioritisation, roadmap planning, user research, and product delivery.
- Comfortable working with technical concepts including API documentation, HTTP semantics, authentication flows, Git workflows, and developer integrations.
- Ability to prototype or use AI-assisted development and vibe-coding tools to pressure-test ideas and communicate product concepts effectively.
- Strong product judgement with the ability to distinguish high-impact opportunities from frequently requested but lower-value features.
- Comfortable working with data, defining meaningful metrics, analysing product usage, and making evidence-based decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills with Engineering, Design, Support, and other cross-functional teams.
- Direct and proactive communication style, with the ability to escalate risks early and remove blockers quickly.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in an asynchronous, fast-moving environment.
- Genuine curiosity about developer workflows, technical products, APIs, and developer experience.
- Experience with developer tools such as Bruno, Postman, Insomnia, or curl is an advantage.
- Knowledge of API testing, API design, authentication, CI/CD, or adjacent developer tooling is highly desirable.
- Experience working with open-source products, GitHub issues, RFCs, community roadmaps, or public product development is a plus.
- Prior experience in a startup or early-stage environment where Product Managers are highly hands-on is preferred.
- A technical background or prior engineering experience before transitioning into product management is an advantage.
