  • Improving efficiency: Identify opportunities to automate reporting using cutting-edge digital and AI tools.
  • Making recommendations: Turn data and trends into actionable insights for senior decision-makers.
  • Collaborating: Partner with teams across HSBC on finance/balance sheet management, regulatory reporting, tax, and transformation activity.
  • Shaping strategy: Apply your growing finance knowledge to guide HSBC’s future.

What you’ll learn

This is a structured two-year programme designed to accelerate your career and give you broad exposure to HSBC’s Finance function. You’ll gain technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the professional qualifications you need to thrive.

Here’s what’s in store:

  • Four 6-month rotations that could include: Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Control, Business Finance, Investor Relations, Financial Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control, Tax, and/or Finance Change, and Treasury.
  • Expert training to deepen your technical knowledge.
  • Additional learning via various HSBC-wide and Finance specific learning platforms. Professional qualifications: CISI – Investment Securities Qualifications in Derivatives and UK Financial Regulation.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be available to work full time from July 2027 onwards
  • Have obtained, or expect to achieve, a minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0 or 3.2/4.0 (or overseas equivalent, as shown on your official university transcript/degree certificate)
  • Be fluent in English, knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese would be an advantage
  • Have already graduated or will have completed studies before the programme start date
  • We will consider candidates that require visa sponsorship for this role
