Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

We are looking for a hands-on deployment expert to join our team and own the deployment, operation, support, and stability of the software platforms that power Symbotic's advanced warehouse automation solutions.

This is a deployment-focused role. We are not looking for a traditional software developer. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex software deployments, supporting large-scale Kubernetes environments, troubleshooting distributed systems, and driving successful production rollouts. This individual will serve as a critical technical leader responsible for deployment execution, operational readiness, platform stability, and production support across multiple environments.

What we do

Our team is responsible for deploying, operating, and supporting the software systems that power Symbotic's automation platform. We work across development, staging, customer, and production environments to ensure reliable software delivery, operational excellence, and system stability.

We partner closely with Robotics, Controls, Infrastructure, QA, and Product teams to support mission-critical systems operating in highly automated warehouse environments.

What you’ll do

  • Own end-to-end deployment activities across development, staging, customer, and production environments.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, validate, and support software upgrades, deployments, hotfixes, and rollouts.
  • Manage and support large-scale Kubernetes environments, including cluster administration, upgrades, scaling, maintenance, and operational health.
  • Troubleshoot deployment failures, infrastructure issues, application startup problems, configuration issues, and environment-related defects.
  • Monitor deployment health, system stability, and platform performance across all environments.
  • Drive continuous improvements in deployment processes, operational standards, reliability, and system availability.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for deployment and production issues.

What you’ll need

  • 4 years of experience supporting software deployments, production environments, or platform operations.
  • Experience supporting applications running in containerized environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong Linux administration experience.
  • Experience with Docker and container technologies.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Basic scripting experience using Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting software deployments in production environments.
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot issues and drive resolution.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with warehouse automation, robotics, industrial automation, or distributed systems.
  • Exposure to large-scale Kubernetes deployments in production environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Rancher, OpenShift, or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing deployments and operational environments.
  • Strong operational mindset with a focus on reliability, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.
