With our three market leading businesses, world-class operations and investments in research and development, we offer capabilities and opportunity no one else can. Together, we push the boundaries of known science and find new ways to connect and protect our world.
Collins Aerospace is a global leader in aviation and airport solutions, offering integrated and intelligent systems designed to enhance passenger experience and improve operational efficiency. Our broad portfolio spans across the entire airport ecosystem, from passenger processing and self-service to complex operational and baggage management solutions.
In this rapidly evolving environment, Collins Aerospace is always looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, and optimize customer experiences. We are seeking an experienced candidate to help lead this mission. This specific role will be focused on leading and shaping our data strategy across the airport solutions portfolio.
Role Overview:
The Product Manager will own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and execution for data initiatives across multiple airport domains – including biometrics, baggage, self-service kiosks, passenger flow, and airport operations. Translate business needs and customer pain points into clear, actionable data solutions that deliver measurable value. Partner with engineering, product lines, UX, and commercial teams to drive data-first product delivery. Define and manage data product KPIs, ensuring alignment with broader platform and product goals. Champion data governance, quality, and scalability across products and teams. Keep a pulse on trends in data engineering, analytics, and AI, particularly within aviation and adjacent industries.
The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. An entrepreneurial mindset for distilling business value and goals into the product vision and roadmap. Working alongside your peers within the product organization, you will foster a portfolio-first mindset, deepening levels of collaboration, ensuring decision making will complement and elevate the wider portfolio.
What You Will Do:
Customer Engagement & Market Discovery:
- Act as a trusted advisor to existing airport operators globally. Taking careful ownership of their current pain points, understanding their data needs, collaborating to shape the evolution of data within our product lines.
- Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end data strategy for our airport solutions, ensuring that roadmaps prioritize market needs, customer requirements, operating efficiencies and the broader portfolio's success with data.
Mentorship:
- Lead agile, product-led execution by working side-by-side with your teams, championing a value-driven product culture and an innovative mindset that serves the wider portfolio. Encouraging shared goals and cross-collaboration of teams across the UK, the US, and India.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Drive data alignment across our teams including Engineering, Product Owners, Program Management, Sales/Business Development, Marketing, Finance, Contracts, and Legal. Equip our global sales, account management, and customer success teams with the correct value propositions and collateral to confidently support the adoption of data solutions with existing clients and clearly communicate the future vision.
Decision Making & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level decision-making and approvals, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals. Hold authority on product development and sustainability, pricing, and prioritization, making high-level decisions in collaboration with specialized functions.
Profit & Loss Accountability:
- Own financial success metrics including product profitability, cost management, and investment returns.
Forecasting & Planning:
- Be responsible for overall product business case, Strategic Financial Plan (SFP), and Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Actively managing both CAPEX and OPEX spend to ensure sustainable growth and profitability for the broader business.
Qualifications / Experience You Must Have:
- Proven experience within Product Lifecycle Management and agile development practices.
- Strong understanding of data concepts – pipelines, warehousing, governance, and analytics tooling.
- Proficiency using product and engineering tooling (such as Aha! Roadmaps, Azure DevOps, Product board, or Jira) to plan customer needs and manage quarterly delivery expectations.
- Experience creating business cases including financial metrics such as product profitability, cost management, and investment returns. Understanding of business value related to product functionality.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills to work with large global teams, build trust, drive cross-functional collaboration and overcome conflicting priorities.
- A bias towards action. A passion for making data actionable and valuable in real-world applications. Must be able to get around roadblocks and stay focused on delivering successful product outcomes.
- Demonstrable financial acumen, with a track record of successfully managing a product P&L, including the strategic allocation and tracking of CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
Qualifications / Experience We Prefer:
- Preferred background in technologies that are centered around airports. With exposure to products that have both hardware and software components, deployed in both on-premise and cloud based environments.
