Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to create effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications. The successful candidate will take a user-centered design approach to deliver intuitive digital experiences through research, prototyping, testing, and iterative design processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create

effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing user interfaces.

  • Design

the overall functionality of digital products to ensure an exceptional user experience.

  • Apply

user-centered design principles and rapidly test and iterate solutions.

  • Conduct

user research, interviews, and surveys.

  • Translate

research findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

  • Design

interfaces for digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required.

  • Research,

conceive, sketch, prototype, and user-test digital product experiences.

  • Identify

design challenges and develop elegant, practical solutions.

  • Make

strategic design and user experience decisions related to new and existing product features.

  • Gather

user feedback and continuously improve existing interfaces.

Qualifications & Experience

General Skills

  • Relevant

experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance.

  • Experience

as a UX Designer, Interactive Designer, UI Designer, or similar role designing web and mobile applications.

  • Ability

to define and lead UX projects, design workshops, and stakeholder alignment sessions.

  • Experience

managing end-to-end user research from recruitment through synthesis.

  • Proficiency

with design and prototyping tools.

  • Thorough

understanding of web development technologies and their limitations.

  • Experience

designing online programs with emphasis on human-centered experiences.

  • Experience

creating sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

  • Experience

designing and delivering solutions optimized across multiple devices and interfaces.

  • Experience

collaborating with stakeholders to shape product vision through research and testing.

  • Experience

identifying design problems and developing elegant solutions.

  • Experience

making strategic UX and design decisions.

  • Experience

gathering and incorporating user feedback.

  • Demonstrated

ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and support client relationships.

  • Experience

with Figma, Canvas, and similar design tools.

Communication Skills

  • Ability

to prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.

  • Strong

communication skills for presenting design concepts and development processes.

  • Experience

working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA professionals, and business stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated

experience within highly collaborative team environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge

of accessibility testing.

  • Experience

working with the Ontario Design System.

  • Knowledge

of Digital Service Standards.

  • Experience

addressing complex design challenges involving legacy systems.

  • Experience

designing solutions that comply with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid

work model with 5 days onsite as required.
