POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of a customer projects.

In this role, the Project Manager will take responsibility for leading the group of Engineers and Technicians and ensure successful implementation of customer projects – on-time delivery, within budget and quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for successful design of all mechanical activities to meet the budget and time expectations as defined in the project proposal and cost sheets
  • Responsible for accurately and timely reviewing the Mechanical Engineering documentation package assigned to each customer project
  • Responsible to meet the budget and deadline of pallets, critical stations and all systems.
  • Review Software Design Specification with the project’s Controls & Mechanical Engineer
  • Support Validation team to create and test validation package per customer’s specifications
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers and Functional Manager to streamline activities and share technical difficulties.
  • Share projects with other Mikron Project Managers when asked.
  • Support debugging phase with the support of the Mechanical Technician Manager
  • Troubleshoot engineering modifications during debug phase. Identify problems and propose sound solutions with the support of the project’s PE, team and the technical expert team if needed.
  • Lead activities during the Internal Acceptance Test process including paperwork
  • Lead validations activities during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)/ Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Collaborate with Functional Managers for project execution activities
  • Responsible for reviewing Mechanical, Control, Electrical and assembly/debugging activities.
  • Lead project meetings and morning meetings in the debugging floor.

Requirements

Employment Qualifications:

  • Must be able to manage all suppliers, including systems’ vendors, for all technical aspects including equipment buy-off and Inform Director of Customer Projects of project delays, risks, costs, deadlines,
  • Able to work with different jobs function during project phases.
  • Can provide guideline and/or sketches to design the stations
  • Capable to coordinate project resources requests and forecast with functional Manager
  • Able to provide root cause analysis techniques such as bone fish, 4 why Follow Mikron standards, work instructions and procedures
  • Able to analyze and interpret customer URS, design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine the feasibility of the requests
  • Able to organize and lead large meetings with customers, suppliers and Mikron Team members
  • Lead internal/external project design reviews
  • Ability to prioritize activities during project execution phases.
  • Establish a partnership relationship with the customer at all times.
  • Keep sufficient inventory of customer supplied products, review the stock of customer products on hand for machine debug and keep the customer informed of potential impacts on a timely manner
  • Ability to estimate costs and delivery time during all project execution phases
  • Capable to work with excel cost sheets and understand the formulas and the data behind the summaries.
  • Drive daily work activities with the project team and in the debugging area for related projects
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state Driver license and be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel

Professional & Technical Education:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a lead position in the Automation industry or similar or educational equivalent

Other Job-Related Experience or Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the year as requested and on short notice
  • Must be available to work hours necessary to meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Engineering
  • Industrial automation experience
  • Medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing industry knowledge
  • Software experience: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PDM/PLM, ERP
  • Experience in a role supervising or managing other Engineers or Project Managers

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead and Supervise all project team members with a focus on the project’s budget, schedule/delivery time, and risks
  • Supervise the team to resolve technical problems during installation at the customer site
  • Planning, assigning, directing, and reviewing work
