Security Project Manager (m/f/d)
Role Overview
About the Security Services Delivery Excellence Team
This role sits within the Security Services Delivery Excellence team, whose purpose is Elevating Security Delivery to a Standard of Excellence — enabling every other department to focus on its core purpose.
The team's principle is to Orchestrate, Not Operate: it focuses on how security services are delivered, not on what is engineered or operated. It defines the frameworks, standards, and metrics that empower Engineering and Operations to deliver consistently and efficiently. In practice, the team:
• Unify the Service Experience — ensure that all security services, regardless of technical domain, follow a consistent delivery approach that enhances quality, transparency, and customer confidence.
• Bridge Strategic and Operational Layers — connect the CISO's Engineering, Operations, and Governance towers through shared processes, common metrics, and maturity initiatives.
• Institutionalize Service Excellence — establish a global framework for measuring quality, SLA performance, and customer satisfaction (KPI/KRI/NPS) without dictating technical execution.
• Strengthen Readiness and Handoffs — coordinate readiness reviews, onboarding, and pre-launch validation to ensure services are operationally fit before handover to Operations.
• Accelerate Continuous Improvement — lead cross-functional improvement programs based on service performance data and post-implementation insight, feeding lessons learned back into Engineering and Operations.
• Enable Sustainable Growth — develop tools, dashboards, and delivery methodologies that scale globally, supporting rather than duplicating existing engineering or operational responsibilities.
• Champion Collaboration and Clarity — serve as the single point of coordination for security service delivery excellence, ensuring alignment and clear ownership across all security towers.
We are seeking an experienced Security Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver a portfolio of security-related projects and initiatives across our global security organization and customer security engagements. This role combines hands-on project management— coordinating multiple concurrent projects, managing dependencies and shared risks across workstreams, and ensuring consistent governance and reporting across the security portfolio.
This is a delivery-focused role: the Security Project Manager operationalizes priorities and direction set by security leadership, rather than setting them independently.
The Security Project Manager will collaborate deeply across central security functions including Security Engineering, Security Operations, Security Governance, Corporate Security, and Service Management/Customer Success, ensuring alignment, clarity, and accountability for shared outcomes across multiple projects. This role requires prior experience delivering cybersecurity projects, and a strong understanding of security programs, technologies, and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Portfolio Delivery
• Own the coordinated delivery of a portfolio of related security projects and initiatives, including internal security enhancement work, customer onboarding programs, get-to-green remediation plans, and cross-functional transformation initiatives.
• Maintain a consolidated view of the security project portfolio, tracking cross-project dependencies, shared resources, risks, and priorities.
• Support and operationalize Detection Engineering sprint planning, including backlog organization, sprint facilitation, and delivery tracking.
Coordination & Oversight
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across the Security Organisation, such as Security Engineering and Security Operations, to drive successful execution of projects and programmes.
• Partner with the wider company including Infrastructure, Cloud, and Service Management or Customer Success Management to ensure successful outcomes.
Security Knowledge and Leadership
• Good knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity domains such as SOC operations, managed detection and response, security engineering, vulnerability/exposure management, and governance frameworks.
• Provide clarity and structure to technical teams, acting as the bridge between technical teams and project execution discipline.
• Act as a trusted delivery leader, driving accountability and establishing consistent communication with stakeholders, including regular programme-level reporting to security leadership.
Project Management Excellence
• Ensure projects adhere to governance, compliance, and risk-management frameworks.
• Develop and maintain detailed project and programme plans, timelines, communication structures, and reporting dashboards.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies while driving accountability among stakeholders across multiple concurrent projects.
• Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and briefings with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure high-quality documentation, including project/programme charters, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience (3+ years) managing and delivering cybersecurity-focused projects and programs in mid-to-large enterprise environments, preferably as part of a CISO organisation, or for an IT services company delivering managed or professional security services.
• Experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects or workstreams, including managing dependencies, shared resources, and competing priorities.
• Proven ability to drive project outcomes with clarity, structure, and consistency.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities, including experience reporting to senior leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience managing initiatives involving one or more of the following technologies: Splunk Enterprise & Enterprise Security, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Qualys, or CyberArk.
• Experience supporting customer onboarding programs, managed security services, or security consulting delivery.
• Experience mentoring or providing delivery oversight to other project managers or coordinators.
• Project or program management certifications (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum).
Additional mandatory requirements:
Nationality or Work Authorization: Spanish or Portuguese nationality, or alternatively a permanent work permit/VISA for Spain or Portugal.
Language Proficiency: Advanced level of Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
