Full description

The Healthcare Data Analyst will be uniquely positioned to gather and analyze healthcare data from multiple sources to extract trends and business insights. This role is critical in helping us meet regulatory requirements, improve patient outcomes, and drive operational efficiency through data-driven insights. Key knowledge items include an understanding of healthcare quality metrics, UDS (Uniform Data Set) reporting, PCMH (Patient Centered Medical Home), FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) and CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

ETL & Data Management

- Design, build, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from clinical systems, including eClinicalWorks (eCW). - Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data standards.

SQL & Analytical Reporting

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support clinical, operational, and regulatory reporting. - Analyze large datasets to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for quality improvement.

Healthcare Quality & Regulatory Reporting

- Support UDS and PCMH reporting by preparing, validating, and submitting required datasets. - Monitor and report on FQHC quality metrics (e.g., HEDIS, CMS Core Measures, HRSA metrics) utilizing Azara DRVS quality reporting tool. - Assist in tracking and reporting CCBHC metrics, including behavioral health outcomes and service utilization.

Data Visualization & Storytelling

- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate insights to clinical and administrative stakeholders. - Translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives that support strategic decision-making.

Documentation & Process Improvement

- Document data sources, transformation logic, and report development processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data workflows and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field, Master’s preferred. - 2+ years of experience in a healthcare data analyst role, preferably within an FQHC or community health setting. - Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases. - Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration processes. - Strong knowledge of Tableau and Power BI for data visualization. - Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is highly preferred. - Understanding of UDS reporting, FQHC quality metrics, and CCBHC requirements. - Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills and Additional Responsibilities

- Healthcare clinical experience strongly preferred

-Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis. - Knowledge of healthcare coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED). - Familiarity with HRSA, SAMHSA, and CMS reporting guidelines.

-Works with clinical staff to identify workflows to capture data correctly.

-Maintaining report prioritization in project management software.

-Responding to tickets and resolving reporting issues for end users.

-Other duties as assigned.
