Position Responsibilities
- Application Development and Management:
- Analyze business requirements to design and deliver secure, scalable, and reusable
- API and application integration solutions.
- Develop and maintain RESTful and/or SOAP APIs to facilitate data exchange
between internal systems and third-party services.
- Manage full application and API lifecycle: design, implementation, testing,
documentation, monitoring, and versioning.
- Collaborate with other teams, and analysts to ensure seamless integration within
application ecosystems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and user guides.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, data privacy standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0,JWT, HIPAA, GDPR), and governance models.
- Use automation technologies to build and monitor scheduled jobs to improve business workflows and increase productivity.
- Utilize database tools such as PL/SQL, SSIS, and SSRS to create data extracts and build custom reports.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for application enhancements.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for all supported systems.
- Work closely with the Information Security team to implement protective measures for applications. Identify and manage risks within the department.
- Application Support:
- Support application upgrades, migrations, and deployments related to integrated
systems.
- Provide Tier 2 support to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to
applications.
- Monitor application performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Project Management:
- Lead or participate in application-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and
integrations.
- Work with IT Project Manager to define project scopes, create project plans, and
manage timelines.
- Coordinate with other IT analysts and business professionals.
- Participate in routine disaster recovery exercises to run applications from a
secondary data center location and maintain associated documentation.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in the development of application integration solutions and API Lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in application administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of SQL, database management, and reporting tools.
- Quick learner with ability to understand complex system interdependencies.
- Familiarity with support case/ticket management systems.
- Working knowledge of change management and disaster recovery best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work individually or collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Fine attention to detail, time-management, and analytical skills.
Education and/or Experience
- Associates degree in Computer Science, IT, related IT discipline or equivalent work
experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working in a database administrative capacity.
- Experience with job automation and scheduling technologies preferred.
- Background in the financial services industry preferred.
- IT-related certifications are a plus.
