Job Summary & Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements-based and system level testing across projects and platforms ensuring quality and efficiency for Onto's Inspection Business Unit solutions
  • Cross-functional collaboration with software, hardware, manufacturing and applications teams to validate software
  • Analyze and verify software requirements for testability, clarity and completeness
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for new features and products
  • Investigate, reproduce, log and escalate issues/defects
  • Develop efficient test strategies (test cases and procedures) for the different sub-systems comprising the product
  • Develop and execute automated and manual tests, regression, functional, and acceptance tests
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software to ensure high-quality and reliable operation
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new features and functionalities
  • Perform design/code reviews for all automation scripts and manual test cases, collaborating with systems engineers, software developers, and other technical staff
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in software development and hardware-software integration

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to understand requirements and design test strategies and plans based on those requirements
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in software testing and/or systems level testing for highly technical applications
  • Experience developing automation frameworks or automated tests and scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Experience testing client/server solutions
  • Excellent skillset focused on Windows development, the .NET platform (C#, C++), and relational databases (SQL Server a plus)
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality. Demonstrated experience debugging complex multi-threaded environments
  • Ability to design and execute test strategies and plans based on requirements and functional designs
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be able to travel internationally to customer sites at least 20% of the time, with additional travel as business needs require.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, AzureDevOps) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practice

Compensation & Growth

  • Base Salary Range:

$115,200.00 - $172,800.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.

  • Additional Rewards: Annual bonus opportunities and potential long-term incentives tied to both company and individual success.
