This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cybersecurity Architect - Top Secret Clearance Required based in the United States.
This is a fully remote cybersecurity architecture role supporting complex government, defense, and intelligence IT environments.You will shape enterprise security architectures that protect mission-critical systems, infrastructure, applications, and sensitive data.The role spans cybersecurity strategy, technical design, compliance, risk management, security tooling, and operational support.You will work across network, endpoint, identity, cloud, application, virtualization, and data environments while advancing Zero Trust principles.Your expertise will help ensure security solutions meet federal requirements, RMF standards, DoW guidance, and accreditation expectations.You will also serve as a trusted technical advisor, mentor cybersecurity professionals, and communicate architectural decisions to technical and executive stakeholders.The environment is mission-driven, collaborative, and fast-paced, with opportunities to influence modernization initiatives and strengthen resilient security capabilities.

Accountabilities:
- Design, evolve, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity architectures that protect mission-critical systems and data across complex global IT environments.
- Develop reference architectures, security patterns, technical standards, and roadmaps aligned with federal cybersecurity requirements, DoW guidance, Zero Trust principles, and industry best practices.
- Translate mission, business, compliance, and operational requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient architectural solutions.
- Architect end-to-end security solutions across network, endpoint, identity, cloud, application, virtualization, and storage environments.
- Lead the design and optimization of cybersecurity platforms and services, including SIEM, log management, endpoint protection, data pipelines, dashboards, detection use cases, and alerting capabilities.
- Provide architectural guidance for security tool configuration and operations while ensuring deployed technologies deliver effective monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
- Embed risk management and compliance requirements into solution architectures, including RMF, DISA STIGs, SCAP/SCC scanning, CCRI, and applicable agency standards.
- Contribute to System Security Plans and accreditation documentation, ensuring security controls and architectural implementations are accurately represented.
- Create and maintain architectural diagrams, technical design documents, standards, decision records, playbooks, and reusable security patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, infrastructure, customer representatives, program leadership, and other stakeholders to align security architecture with evolving mission needs.
- Mentor cybersecurity engineers and analysts by reviewing designs and configurations, sharing expertise, and reinforcing security architecture best practices.
- Act as a senior technical resource and escalation point for complex cybersecurity issues, providing architectural analysis and recommendations to support mission success.
- Support modernization initiatives by identifying opportunities to strengthen existing security capabilities based on emerging threats, operational lessons, and evolving requirements.
- Provide occasional after-hours architectural support when required for critical troubleshooting, changes, or incident response.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information assurance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or information assurance, including significant experience designing and implementing security architectures in complex environments.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required and must be maintained; U.S. citizenship is also required.
- Current baseline certification meeting a minimum of DoW 8570.01-M IAT Level II requirements, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, is required before starting.
- Ability to obtain an additional computing environment certification within six months of hire, such as CEH, CCNA-Security, or CND, as required by the position.
- At least 2 years of Red Hat Linux engineering experience and 2 years of Windows Server administration experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with SIEM platforms, preferably Splunk or Elastic, including data ingestion, correlation, and security use-case design.
- Experience applying DISA STIGs, using SCAP/SCC scanning tools, and working with RMF and CCRI processes.
- Strong scripting capabilities using PowerShell, Python, or BASH, particularly for automating security controls and data workflows.
- Familiarity with TLS/SSL certificate management and its integration into system and application architectures.
- Knowledge of VMware ESXi, NetApp, SAN architectures, and security controls within virtualized and storage environments.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent and secure data-streaming architectures is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture, compliance risk management, IT operations, and security engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and security concepts to leadership, customers, and technical teams.
- Demonstrated mentoring, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, mission-focused environment while balancing competing technical priorities.
