Sr QA Engineer

Panzura is seeking an experienced Senior QA + Lab Engineer to join our engineering team in Pune, India. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our distributed storage platform while also managing and maintaining the QA lab infrastructure. You will design QA strategies, develop automation, execute comprehensive testing across storage protocols, and ensure the lab environment is stable, scalable, and ready for test execution. The role requires close collaboration with engineering teams in India and the US.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of QA experience, including hands-on experience with lab management.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and test automation.
• Experience with automation tools such as PyTest, Selenium, JUnit or similar frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of SMB and NFS protocols.
• Familiarity with iSCSI, Fibre Channel, or NVMe-oF is a plus.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems and file system concepts.
• Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, routing).
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Xen.
• Experience testing distributed or cloud-based storage systems.
• Knowledge of object storage (AWS S3 or similar) is a plus.
• Ability to analyze performance issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Experience with packet capture analysis and wire-level debugging.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Quality Assurance• Design and implement QA strategies and methodologies for distributed storage systems.

• Develop and maintain automation frameworks for scalable testing of storage management and I/O path layers.
• Perform end-to-end testing of cloud-based distributed filesystems across protocols such as SMB, NFS, and iSCSI.
• Validate key storage features including data consistency, availability, performance, snapshots, encryption, quotas, mirroring, and replication.
• Identify, track, and validate fixes for defects.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to ensure strong test coverage.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews to improve product quality.
• Perform security verification and validation of storage systems.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to test documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Hands on experience in writing correct prompts for generating test cases and automation using AI tools like Copilot, etc.

Lab Management

• Manage and maintain the QA lab infrastructure, including servers, storage arrays, and networking components.
• Ensure high availability and readiness of test environments for QA and engineering teams.
• Provision and maintain virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) used for test automation and system validation.
• Coordinate lab resource allocation, hardware upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lab infrastructure, network, and hardware issues impacting test execution.
• Maintain lab documentation, topology diagrams, and asset inventory.
• Work with global teams to support cross-site testing and infrastructure alignment.
• Drive improvements in lab automation, environment provisioning, and operational efficiency.
