Role Summary

We are seeking a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager to lead products that help US health plans manage risk adjustment, HCC coding, medical-record retrieval, and related payer workflows. This role owns the journey from customer and market insight through delivery, release, and measurable product improvement. The successful candidate combines strong product judgment with practical knowledge of the US payer market and the operational realities of clinical documentation, coding, and compliance.

The level will be determined by the candidate’s experience, scope of ownership, and demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives independently.

What You Will Own

· Product strategy and roadmap for capabilities that support risk adjustment, HCC coding, chart retrieval, coding review, provider outreach, or payer operations.

· A prioritized backlog that balances customer needs, business goals, regulatory requirements, engineering efforts, operational dependencies, and delivery risk.

· Clear product requirements, workflow definitions, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures for initiatives from discovery through launch.

· The operating rhythm for your product area, including sprint planning, refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder updates.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

· Define and evolve product vision, strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes in partnership with business, clinical, engineering, design, data, operations, and leadership teams.

· Develop a deep understanding of health-plan customers, end users, coding and retrieval operations, and the market landscape; translate those insights into validated product opportunities.

· Lead day-to-day agile delivery: facilitate backlog refinement and sprint planning, establish release readiness, and maintain clarity on scope, dependencies, and priorities.

· Triage, prioritize, and drive resolution of product defects, production issues, and customer-reported problems. Coordinate investigation, communicate impact and status, and ensure fixes are validated before release.

· Run sprint reviews and retrospectives; convert lessons learned into practical actions that improve quality, predictability, collaboration, and delivery speed.

· Conduct impact analysis for new features, enhancement requests, regulatory changes, and change requests. Assess user impact, business value, workflow changes, compliance considerations, data needs, dependencies, risks, and delivery effort.

· Work with UX and engineering to design intuitive, scalable workflows and ensure that functionality meets usability, performance, security, and quality expectations.

· Partner with go-to-market, implementation, customer success, and operations teams on product launches, enablement, adoption, and feedback loops.

· Use quantitative product data and qualitative customer feedback to monitor adoption, completion rates, coding accuracy, retrieval efficiency, operational throughput, and other relevant outcomes.

· Communicate product direction, release plans, trade-offs, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels

US Healthcare Domain Focus

This role requires the ability to make product decisions in a regulated, operationally complex US healthcare environment. The Product Manager will work closely with specialists across payer, coding, clinical, compliance, and data functions.

· Understand US payer business models and workflows across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial plans, including member populations, provider relationships, reimbursement drivers, and value-based-care priorities.

· Apply working knowledge of risk adjustment and HCC coding concepts to product discovery, workflow design, prioritization, and release validation.

· Understand the lifecycle of medical-record retrieval and chart chase, including provider outreach, record ingestion, document management, abstraction, coding, quality review, and submission workflows.

· Incorporate privacy, security, auditability, and compliance requirements into product requirements and delivery decisions, including HIPAA-related considerations and payer or CMS program requirements where applicable.

· Collaborate effectively with clinical coders, coding auditors, retrieval teams, payer operations teams, provider-facing users, and healthcare data specialists.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

· For Product Manager: typically 3 to 5 years of product management experience. For Senior Product Manager: typically 5 to 8 or more years of product management experience, including ownership of a substantial product area or strategic initiative.

· Demonstrated ability to take products or meaningful features from problem discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration.

· Strong experience working with cross-functional agile teams and managing a product backlog, sprint planning, acceptance criteria, and release activities.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and stakeholder-management skills.

· Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, make reasoned trade-offs, and translate complex workflows into clear product requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience building or managing HCC coding, risk adjustment, medical-record retrieval, chart chase, coding validation, clinical documentation, or related US healthcare platforms.

· Deep understanding of the US payer market, including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, commercial health plans, provider networks, and reimbursement models.

· Familiarity with CMS risk-adjustment programs, HCC models, RADV audit concepts, coding guidelines, and clinical coding workflows.

· Experience working with healthcare data, interoperability standards, provider documentation, or clinical and administrative workflows.

· Experience using product analytics tools and translating analysis into product decisions.

Senior Product Manager Expectations

· Own a larger product domain or high-impact strategic initiative with meaningful customer, revenue, operational, or compliance implications.

· Set direction across multiple teams, align senior stakeholders, and manage complex dependencies with limited oversight.

· Shape longer-term product strategy and influence investment priorities using customer insight, market context, and business evidence.

· Mentor Product Managers and help raise the quality of product discovery, prioritization, delivery practices, and stakeholder communication.

Benefits

Measures of Success

· Product roadmap and releases consistently address validated customer and payer-market needs while meeting quality and compliance expectations.

· Teams have clear priorities, well-defined requirements, and predictable delivery plans.

· Critical defects and operational issues are assessed, communicated, and resolved with appropriate urgency and learning captured for future prevention.

· Product outcomes improve through measurable gains in user adoption, workflow efficiency, record-retrieval performance, coding quality, completion rates, or customer satisfaction, as applicable.

· Stakeholders understand product direction, decision rationale, risks, and the expected business impact of planned work.
