About the RoleWhat You'll DoIn this role, you should be a keen problem solver and have a good level of written and spoken English. The role primarily involves helping clients and prospective clients use our hosting service, answering technical queries mainly through support tickets and live chat.
We use a standard hosting stack comprising cPanel, Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP so experience with these technologies is crucial. The majority of the sites we host will run a CMS like WordPress, so experience from a user or management perspective of WordPress is also desirable.
What You'll Bring• Accessing a Linux server with SSH
- Minimal D3/S1
- 1 year experience
- Using common command line tools, like grep, vi/nano, chmod/chown. htaccess files, rewrite rules, IP blocking
- Basic PHP scripting and syntax, php.ini configuration variables
- MySQL connection strings, basic SQL syntax, and common error messages
- Identifying and diagnosing server performance problems (CPU, iowait, swap)
- Migrating websites manually between servers
- Managing DNS and nameservers.
