SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager I to lead and manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects or MEP scopes on medium to large projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, potentially overseeing multiple projects, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage overall project financial health, including projections, budgeting, and invoicing
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management
  • Direct 3-D coordination and commissioning processes, ensuring conflict resolution and testing
  • Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training
  • Supervise and develop Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)
  • Serve as main contact for owner, resolving site concerns and building relationships
  • Manage change orders and obtain necessary approvals
  • Ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
  • Active listening and effective communication skills, open to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 100%

  • Minimum eight years construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
  • Current driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is $144,300 - $216,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
