Mission
We are looking for a Senior Execution Project Manager to lead our utility-scale BESS projects in Italy from NTP to COD. You will take ownership of Ready-to-Build projects, steer EPC and BoP contractors, and deliver safe, on-time, on-budget energy storage assets, acting as the single point of contact for all stakeholders. Based in Rome (hybrid), with frequent site visits across Italy.
Responsibilities

- Contract & Procurement Management: contribute to tendering, negotiation and selection of EPC/BoP contractors and key suppliers (BESS, inverters, transformers, substation); administer contracts, milestones, change orders, claims and liquidated damages with Legal and Procurement.
- Schedule, Cost & Risk Control: own budget and contingency, track progress against the critical path, implement recovery plans and maintain the project risk register.
- Construction, Grid Connection & Commissioning: direct site activities through Site Managers and the Owner's Engineer, manage TSO/DSO interfaces (Terna / E-Distribuzione) for energization and grid compliance, and lead commissioning, testing, Provisional Acceptance, COD and handover to O&M.
- HSE, Quality & Compliance: ensure compliance with Zelestra HSE standards, D.Lgs. 81/08, permits and QA/QC procedures (ITPs, FATs, SATs), supported by the QHSE Department.
- Reporting & People Management: report on progress, cost and risk to Management, investors, lenders and technical advisors; mentor junior project managers and help standardize execution practices across the Italian portfolio.
Job Requirements
- Education & Experience: Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Energy, Mechanical or Civil); 5-8 years in utility-scale renewable project management (BESS strongly preferred) with at least two projects delivered through COD as PM or Deputy PM; solid knowledge of EPC/multi-contracting models, BoP, MV/HV substations, Italian grid connection and permitting (AU, PAS, CEI 0-16, Terna Grid Code).
- Project Management Skills: advanced planning, cost control and risk management; MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD and SAP; EPC/FIDIC contract management including claims and change management; PMP / PRINCE2 is a plus.
- Languages: native or C2 Italian; fluent English (minimum C1).
- Soft Skills: leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management; hands-on, results-oriented and decisive under pressure; ready to travel and be on site during critical phases.
