Position: Technical Support Engineer - Construction Chemicals

Location: Lagos (Full-time)

Remuneration: N350,000

About You

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our client’s team as a Technical Support Engineer. You will serve as a key technical contact for customers, contractors, consultants, and project teams, providing product guidance, conducting site assessments, supporting product application, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring customers achieve the desired results from the company’s construction chemical products.

The role requires a technically strong engineer who can translate technical knowledge into practical solutions while maintaining strong relationships with customers and working effectively with commercial teams.

Job description

  • Provide technical support and product guidance to customers, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and recommend appropriate construction chemical solutions.
  • Provide guidance on product selection, preparation, application, and usage.
  • Provide support in business proposal management.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, application trials, and technical presentations where required.
  • Troubleshoot product and application issues and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer technical complaints and concerns.
  • Work closely with Sales and Business Development teams to provide technical support during client engagements.
  • Train customers, contractors, applicators, and distributors on proper product application and best practices.
  • Monitor product performance on project sites and gather customer feedback.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and key construction industry stakeholders.
  • Prepare relevant technical and site visit reports and escalate complex issues when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction chemicals, construction, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and site operations.
  • Experience in technical support, site supervision, technical sales, product application, or engineering solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects or client requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites and client locations.
