At Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology, we're looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the core technology platforms that power multiple product lines across our semiconductor solutions portfolio. This is a high-impact role where you'll define platform strategy, influence investment decisions, drive innovation, and help deliver cutting-edge equipment used by some of the world's leading technology companies.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products while delivering meaningful value to customers, the business, and the semiconductor industry.

What You'll Be Doing

As Production Manager, you'll own the vision, strategy, and lifecycle of key product platforms, ensuring they deliver outstanding customer value while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Defining and owning the product vision, value proposition, and pricing strategy for your platform
  • Developing and maintaining platform roadmaps aligned to customer needs, market opportunities, and business priorities
  • Acting as Product Owner for shared platforms, prioritising features, capabilities, and investment decisions based on value and impact
  • Balancing customer requirements, technical feasibility, cost, and time-to-market through effective trade-off decisions
  • Driving platform standardisation across strategic product lines to improve efficiency, strengthen supply chains, and optimise procurement leverage
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, equipment performance, uptime, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness
  • Championing sustainability initiatives and ensuring platform compliance with evolving environmental regulations
  • Collaborating closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to define and deliver future platform capabilities
  • Building business cases and securing investment for platform development and innovation
  • Defining and tracking platform KPIs, lifecycle value, customer outcomes, quality, and performance metrics
  • Promoting industry best practices and increasing awareness of relevant SEMI standards, including E10, E35, and E79

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced product or platform leader who combines strategic thinking with strong technical and commercial acumen.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience in Product Management, Platform Ownership, or Product Leadership within a complex engineering or technology environment
  • Proven track record of managing shared technology platforms, systems, or products supporting multiple customer solutions
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, roadmap ownership, and value-based prioritisation
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in agile, matrix, or hybrid operating environments
  • Commercially astute with the ability to evaluate investment opportunities and build compelling business cases
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior leaders
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making and performance management

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and fabrication environments
  • Understanding of plasma etch and deposition technologies and their role within semiconductor fabrication processes
  • Awareness of industry standards and equipment performance metrics

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate qualification or professional accreditation in Product Management, Engineering, or a related field.
