NOX Fire & Security are a Hasland-based fire and security company that designs, installs, and services integrated safety and surveillance systems for homes and businesses across Chesterfield, Sheffield, Derbyshire, Derby and the Peak District. They are now looking to recruit a new fire and security engineer to join their team!
Job Description
As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:
- Access Control
- Video Surveillance
- Intruder Alarms
- Fire Alarms
- Emergency Lighting Systems
Entry Requirements
- A driver's license would be a big advantage, but strong, local candidates who can reliably commute will also be considered
- Basic electrical knowledge or skills would be a bonus
- Comfortable working at height, due to the nature of the role
- Keen to learn more about the wider fire and security industry
- Excellent customer service and teamworking skills
Training to be Provided
This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.
Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.
You’ll train through block release at our Doncaster centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).
You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.

- Build evidence from your job to support your learning
- Sit annual assessments at the centre
