About the Position:

Department: Information Technology

Reports to: Senior IT Specialist

Supervises: None

Location required: Minot ND, Business Center Location

Responsibilities:

Business Process and Needs

  • Serve as the primary internal resource for Gooseneck Implement's Salesforce environment and help ensure the system effectively supports users and business processes across the organization.
  • Develop a strong understanding of how Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and other departments use Salesforce and the Anvil package in their day-to-day work.
  • Work with department leaders and users to understand business needs, workflows, pain points, reporting needs, and opportunities to improve how Salesforce is used.
  • Help evaluate requested Salesforce changes to understand how they may affect other departments, processes, data, integrations, reports, and existing functionality before changes are implemented.
  • Coordinate Salesforce changes and enhancements so that improvements for one area of the business do not create unintended issues elsewhere.

Administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce users, roles, permission sets, security access, and licenses, including onboarding and offboarding users and monitoring license utilization.
  • Administer and support the Anvil package within Salesforce, including routine configuration, troubleshooting, updates, and coordination with Anvil support as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day support to Salesforce users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve routine problems and minor bugs.
  • Perform routine Salesforce configuration and maintenance, including fields, page layouts, validation rules, Flow automation, reports, dashboards, and other platform settings.
  • Develop and modify basic Salesforce reports and dashboards to support business needs.

Development and Maintenance

  • Work with Gooseneck's external Salesforce development partner for more complex reports, dashboards, integrations, development, and system enhancements.
  • Gather and document business requirements for work assigned to external Salesforce partners and help review and test completed solutions before deployment.
  • Help maintain Salesforce data quality through appropriate data standards, validation, duplicate management, imports, exports, and routine data maintenance.
  • Assist with testing Salesforce and Anvil updates and changes before they are released to users.
  • Work closely with Information Technology and the Data Solutions Developer on Salesforce data, integrations, reporting, and related business systems.
  • Stay current on relevant Salesforce capabilities and recommend practical improvements that can simplify business processes or improve user productivity.

Training

  • Support Salesforce users throughout the organization and develop training, documentation, and user guidance to improve adoption and effective use of the platform.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills with an interest in understanding how business processes, people, data, and technology work together.
  • Ability to work with users across multiple departments, understand their needs, and translate those needs into practical Salesforce solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce administration, including users, permissions, licenses, configuration, reporting, and general platform support.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, documenting processes, and helping implement business system improvements.
  • Ability to consider how a system change in one department may affect other users, processes, reports, or data.
  • Experience creating and modifying Salesforce reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce configuration tools such as Flow, Lightning App Builder, custom fields, validation rules, formulas, and permission sets is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
  • Proven ability to work well with internal users, business leaders, vendors, and external technology partners.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Business Analyst certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Salesforce managed packages or third-party Salesforce applications is a plus.
  • Experience in an equipment dealership, agriculture, sales, marketing, customer support, or similar business environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of John Deere dealer software and processes is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience with Salesforce, CRM/business systems, business analysis, application support, or a related field preferred and/or a bachelor's degree in information systems, business, computer science, or a related field.
