What you can expect as a Financial Analyst I:

  • Collect explanations for departmental budget-to-actual variances and evaluate for impacts to the budgeted versus forecasted results for the year.
  • Research and respond to departmental inquiries about budgeted or actual amounts, or remaining budget outlook for desired expenditures, etc.
  • Evaluate & analyze budget-to-actual results on an ongoing basis, identifying, researching, and communicating any issues/trends noted.
  • Prepare periodic forecasted results, based on actuals and updated forecast for remaining months, updated monthly.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updates to the Company’s financial models & projections.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budget-to-actual reports to be sent to Executive Management and Department Heads.
  • Assist with the documentation of internal controls related to the FP&A process.
  • Assist with the administration & upkeep of the Budget & Financial Planning SharePoint site

What we are looking for as a Financial Analyst I:

  • BS or MS in Accounting or Finance
  • Entry level through 1 -2 years of prior related experience.
  • Enterprise and accounting information systems experience a plus
  • Some insurance industry experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and a self-starter attitude necessary.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively on tasks with competing priority.
  • Experience working in dynamic and team environment
  • Fast learner with Interpersonal skills to develop relationship between the business and the system to enhance the appropriate flow of information.
