Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. The network also includes 12 community medicine sites providing care to disenfranchised New Yorkers, comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center that offers educational, vocational, and other social support programs. Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Analyst - Brooklyn. 

In this role, the successful candidate Reports directly to the Vice President of Community Based Programs and assists in managing all financial aspects of the Department including managing monthly financial updates and variance analyses for the fiscal budget (grants, contracts, discretionary, private foundations, subawards, and endowments). Completes all financial analyses related to financial/business plan development for the program expansions of the Department. Provides reliable and responsive accounting and finance services in alignment with the strategic direction and needs of the Department. Assists in the development of new strategies and reporting tools to further the mission goals in the Department. Serves as key resource/liaison to other departments including Grants Fiscal as necessary to reconcile budgets, grants, and contracts to align with MSS allocations and provides administrative leads and account owners with regular financial status reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in financial management and budgeting to ensure that revenue from various sources is maximized across programs and funding streams.  This would include processing and tracking changes within the organizational HR portals to ensure that data is up to date and aligned with grant allocations.

  • Work with members of management team to develop strategies for improving financial position.

  • Assist in developing annual budgets and managing the budget preparation processes.

  • Develop multi-year projections and long-range financial plans and help assess the financial risks.

  • Compliance/Auditing:  Ensure adherence to grant regulations and assist with the annual audit process, as well as ad-hoc audits.

  • Provide guidance to management on financial implications of organizational strategies and plans.

  • Monitor budgets monthly, confirm accuracy and conduct variance analysis of actuals vs. budget.

  • Work with Development Office and Grants Fiscal Office to manage private foundation and donor revenue.

  • Develop additional financial reporting processes and presentations for management.

  • Develop Master Service Agreements and/or contracts when necessary, that are compliant with funder and organizational requirements.

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for special projects or new initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Manages procurement process (cost savings w/ comparative vendors) and troubleshoot vendor issues.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting. Finance, Health Administration or related field required.

  • Detail oriented, ability to multi-task and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a large diverse team.

  • Prior experience handling financial management, such as budgeting, business analytics, financial analysis and/or management of grants including compliance.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Excellent strategic thinking skills.

  • Ability to analyze data to identify opportunities for quality improvement.

  • Prior experience working with community based non-profit organizations and engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • Passion for, knowledge of, and demonstrated commitment to community development as a strategy to improve low income communities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Health Administration or related field preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $69,071.97 - $119,148.94 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
