The Opportunity

Lead Hitachi Energy’s Business Intelligence Competence Center and drive enterprise-wide analytics excellence. You will enable scalable, trusted, and governed BI and data platform capabilities, including Microsoft Fabric, self-service analytics, and reusable reporting solutions. Working across business and technology teams, you will accelerate data-driven decision-making and maximize the value of analytics across the organization.

How you will make an impact:

  • Define and operate enterprise BI delivery standards, reporting patterns, visualization practices, semantic model guidance, and reusable analytics assets; own and mature Microsoft Fabric / EDP (Databricks) enablement standards relevant to analytics consumption and AI-ready data access.
  • Enable Business Units, Functions, and Federated Domains to consume data through governed analytics and BI capabilities; reduce duplication of dashboards, reports, datasets, and metrics through reusable enterprise patterns.
  • Enable AI/ML platform capabilities including MLOps pipelines, model serving (via Databricks / MLflow), and integration with AI agent frameworks; ensure AI-ready data access patterns are governed, traceable, and production-ready.
  • Partner with Data Strategy & Governance, Data Quality & Management, and Data Protection & Compliance to embed governance, quality, access controls, and auditability into analytics, platform, and self-service delivery; support AI Nexus and Digital Core through governed, reusable, and traceable data consumption patterns.
  • Define and monitor analytics adoption, platform usage, reporting quality, reuse, self-service maturity, and service effectiveness indicators; maintain visibility of technology trends, BI capabilities, and emerging analytics practices.
  • Ensure platform security, identity-based access management, and data protection compliance across Microsoft Fabric and Databricks; define and enforce platform-level security controls in collaboration with Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and IT.
  • Manage strategic technology vendor relationships including Microsoft and Databricks.
  • Contribute to FinOps practices for the analytics platform, including capacity planning, cloud cost transparency, chargeback modeling, and consumption optimization.
  • Lead and develop the team, ensuring clear accountabilities, resource allocation, performance management, and professional growth; promote a culture of reuse, governed self-service, analytics excellence, and measurable business value.

Your background:

  • Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience, including at least 10 years in analytics, business intelligence, data platform enablement, data engineering, or data product delivery in a complex global organization.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise BI, analytics, or data platform capabilities across multiple business domains, functions, and geographies.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, Power BI, enterprise data platforms, analytics engineering, reporting architecture, and data consumption patterns; proven experience defining BI standards, semantic models, reusable dashboards, and self-service analytics guardrails.
  • Strong understanding of platform operating models, data governance, data quality, data protection, access control, metadata, lineage, data products, and AI-ready data consumption.
  • Proven experience leading geographically distributed teams; experience preparing business cases, platform roadmaps, vendor assessments, RFPs, POCs, and cost-benefit analyses in an enterprise environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
