About the opportunity
We’ve partnered with a proprietary crypto trading firm operating in the highly competitive world of market-making and high-frequency trading. They build their own technology end to end and look for ambitious, self-driven people with evidence of excelling at challenging work.
Expect a demanding, high-intensity environment where working side by side and staying responsive as markets move are central to the role, with strong earning potential and room to build a serious career in trading.
They can teach you the markets, while you bring the drive.
If this sounds like you, keep on reading!
The Role
You’ll help build and operate a global, latency-critical network connecting trading systems to exchanges across the US, Europe and Asia.
Working across a multi-region, multi-cloud environment defined entirely as code, you’ll gradually take ownership of live regions and services, not just simply complete ticketed tasks.
They value aptitude, sound judgment and self-driven learning, so you won’t need to know the entire stack from day one, but you will need to be comfortable with Linux, careful in production and rigorous about verifying and defending your work.
What you'll do:
- Implement changes across their infrastructure as code, from firewall rules to new servers, subnets, peering entries and reusable modules, reviewing every plan before applying it and preventing undocumented configuration drift.
- Keep DNS, firewall rules and SSH access accurate as servers come and go, reconciling them against a single source of truth.
- Operate the automation that switches traffic between private circuits and cloud peering based on link health.
- Check latency and reachability against their documented RTT targets, using packet captures to verify what was sent and received.
- Tune Linux hosts under a senior engineer’s guidance, including kernel network parameters, NIC settings, IRQ affinity and CPU pinning, incorporating changes into their bootstrap scripts to ensure reproducibility.
- Improve their bootstrap, monitoring and blockchain-node scripts, keep runbooks clear and up to date, and identify further opportunities for automation.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Working knowledge of Linux - shell, services, filesystems, permissions, and reading logs when something breaks.
- Enough scripting to automate anything you would otherwise repeat, and the patience to read code and config you did not write.
- The networking basics - IP/CIDR, subnets, routing tables, TCP versus UDP, DNS, TLS, and firewalls - plus curiosity about the layers underneath.
- Enough packet-capture literacy to tell "the request never left" from "we got no reply".
- Some hands-on time with a cloud platform, even if only on your own projects.
- Evidence you teach yourself hard things, whether a home lab, a personal project, or a competitive result you are proud of.
- Care and humility around production systems. You verify rather than assume, read before you write, and ask early rather than guess
- Fluent English
What you'll get:
- The opportunity to make a real impact in the highly competitive world of crypto trading, working on technology they build entirely in-house.
- Hands-on learning alongside experienced colleagues who can teach you the markets while you bring the curiosity, ambition and drive.
- Meaningful ownership and room to grow, with responsibility shaped by what you can deliver rather than years served.
- Strong earning potential and the opportunity to build a serious long-term career in trading.
