Overview

Our Annapolis, MD based client has an opening for an experienced Business Analyst to join their Information Technology team. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping turn business needs into clear, actionable requirements. This is a hands-on BA role for someone who is comfortable leading conversations, asking questions, challenging ambiguity, and taking ownership of the backlog.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-starter who can work comfortably with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers, QA, and Data Teams. You will be responsible for translating business needs into Features and User Stories, developing Acceptance Criteria, facilitating User Story Mapping and 3 Amigos sessions, and ensuring the development team has a clear, well-defined backlog of work.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting software development or technology delivery environments
  • Strong Azure DevOps experience; Jira experience is a plus
  • Experience creating and managing Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, and Acceptance Criteria
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and backlog refinement
  • Experience leading User Story Mapping sessions
  • Experience facilitating or participating in 3 Amigos sessions with BA, Development, and QA teams
  • Strong business process analysis and process mapping experience
  • Experience working directly with developers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders
  • Ability to translate complex or ambiguous business needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate with senior leadership
  • Experience with Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar process-mapping tools
  • Familiarity with APIs, databases, reporting solutions, and modern web applications is a plus
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to take ownership of assigned work
  • Cultural fit is HUGE

Compensation

Competitive salary range of $100K+, based on experience, qualifications, location, licensure and certifications. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
