We have an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator at Johnson Space Center (JSC) to join the team with our Engineering Division to join the team with Aerodyne Industries.

This System Administrator will be working on the Amentum JETS2 contract, will support the Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division. This System Administrator would work with several different labs in the Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division. These labs support analysis for all crewed space flight, including analysis for commercial partners.

Supporting both Windows and Linux based systems. Managing and designing networking both wired and wireless that are specific to each lab. And maintain security updates on all lab systems. You will work alongside other System Administrators within the Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division. Utilizing established best practices and developing best practices of your own. Day-to-day tasks will include investigating system problems, proactively monitoring system health, and completing security upgrades. Other duties as required may be requested.

Requisition Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area or experience in the field.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or experience in the field.
  • 1 year in any IT-related field. Experience with Linux OS - We utilize a RedHat-based OS, but if your experience is with a different Linux OS that is fine.
  • Experience with Windows OS – Windows 10 and later Demonstrated problem-solving experience. Demonstrated task planning, and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting others with IT-related issues.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Requisition Preferences:

  • Familiarity with any of the following is preferred but not required for the position:
  • RedHat-based systems
  • IT Service Desk Support
  • Configuration management software (ansible, puppet, BigFix, SCRM)
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Log consolidation and monitoring Git/Gitlab Usage Johnson Space Center campus network
  • NASA security mechanisms (security plans, POAMs, ATOs, Risk Assessments)

Work Environment
