Vehicle Solutions develops, maintains, and supports mission-critical applications that power Enterprise Mobility's global business operations throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle. Our team is responsible for the systems that enable the acquisition, onboarding, back end management, and sale of Enterprise's 2.4+ million-vehicle fleet, supporting key business processes and stakeholders in North America and Europe. In addition to supporting these business processes, you will be close to several strategic modernization initiatives, including MyAccess, Vehicle Acquisition Modernization (VAM), and VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) and will help transform our technology landscape and deliver future-ready solutions.

The IT Vehicle Solutions Product Health team supports and enhances the mission-critical applications that enable our business to plan and acquire vehicles, support Rental operations, and ultimately sell vehicles. We design and deliver product enhancements, monitor product health, resolve production issues, and maintain secure, modern application platforms. As a product-centric team, we partner closely with Remarketing, Vehicle Service Operations, and Investment teams to deliver reliable solutions and exceptional user experiences. We are passionate about solving complex challenges, driving resolution of user-reported incidents, and maintaining application roadmaps that prioritize security, stability, and business-driven enhancements as we continue to evolve our products and capabilities.

As an Senior Software Engineer on the Vehicle Acquisition Product Health Team, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to design, develop, support, and enhance technology solutions that support complex business challenges across the vehicle acquisition lifecycle. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will lead the implementation of scalable and reliable solutions, drive improvements in system quality and performance, and partner with business stakeholders to deliver enhancements that support vehicle ordering, vehicle specifications, fleet planning, license and titling processes.

In this role, you will contribute to key initiatives, including improving electronic vehicle ordering integrations with OEM partners and developing capabilities that enable in-house printing of Manufacturer Statements of Origin (MSOs). You will collaborate closely with business users and technology partners, including the Cloud Data Engineering, Workload Automation, and Data Transfer teams, to deliver integrated solutions that improve operational efficiency, streamline data processes, and support the ongoing evolution of Vehicle Acquisition products.

You will collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, evaluate technologies, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role requires translating business and customer needs into effective, high-quality solutions, independently resolving complex technical issues, and recommending enhancements that improve operational efficiency and user experience. In addition, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promote engineering best practices, monitor key performance metrics, and contribute to architectural decisions that strengthen system integration, reliability, and long-term support.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have strong communication skills to successfully collaborate with various IT teams and business representatives effectively
  • Must be able to collaborate in both a team-oriented environment, as well as work independently while providing direction to other team members
  • Must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including debugging multi-threaded applications
  • Skilled with troubleshooting production issues, code reviews and production support
  • Must have previous experience leading large scale projects
  • Must have strong teamwork abilities

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of Java development experience
  • 3+ years of UI Development Experience including CSS3, HTML5, Responsive/Adaptive
  • Experience with Spring, Struts, Hibernate, and Web Services
  • Experience working in AWS environment
  • Experience with Jenkins

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of React JS development experience architecting highly complex enterprise systems
  • Experience with React and REST based APIs
  • Experience with Azure and .NET
  • Knowledge of MVVM architecture is preferred
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns is preferred
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and/or similar tool
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience with source control management (Bitbucket/GIT experience preferred)
