The profile we are looking for
We're looking for a Product Designer & Developer – Physical Products to join our Product Design & Development team.
This is not a fashion-design focused role — we need someone versatile who can combine user research, concept development, technical execution and commercial awareness across physical-product categories like delivery bags and backpacks, motorbike accessories, protective equipment, smart or connected delivery products, packaging, workwear and uniforms.
You're the kind of person who can take an unclear question, structure the research, compare alternatives, and land on a practical, well-costed recommendation. You enjoy creative work, but you know a successful product also has to be manufacturable, commercially viable and clearly documented — so you move comfortably between design, technical documentation and supplier conversations.
This role suits someone proactive, analytical and comfortable with ambiguity and limited supervision. It's not intended as a purely conceptual, visual, fashion-focused, graphic-design or digital-product role.
What You'll Do
- Translate open-ended business and user needs into clear product-development briefs.
- Develop product concepts that balance functionality, user needs, cost, durability and manufacturing feasibility.
- Create technical specifications, BOMs, tech packs and supporting development documentation.
- Maintain accurate product information within the company’s PLM system.
- Coordinate prototypes, samples and pre-production development with suppliers.
- Review quotations, materials, components, manufacturing options and product costs.
- Assess prototypes and samples, identify quality issues and define corrective actions.
- Plan and support product testing, validation and pilot implementation.
- Conduct structured user, market and competitor research.
- Compare alternatives and turn research into clear recommendations and development plans.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and communicate progress, risks and decisions.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, IT and other internal teams.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in physical product design and development, ideally in Product Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, or a related field.
- Categories: soft goods, technical bags, workwear, uniforms or protective products.
- A track record of taking products from research and concept through prototyping and production-readiness — including hands-on work with international suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Comfort managing samples, prototypes, and iterative development cycles.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation (specs, BOMs, tech packs), plus working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, costing, and quality control.
- A structured way of tackling ambiguous problems — weighing options and landing on practical recommendations.
- Strong ownership, organization, and follow-through, with business-level English.
- Solid skills in Adobe Illustrator, Excel/Google Sheets, and Canva Pro. PLM/product-data-management experience.
A portfolio is required — see the Portfolio section below for what to include.
Nice to have
- Experience with Blender or another 3D modelling or visualisation tool.
- Experience with CLO3D.
- Experience with mobility, delivery, motorbike or connected products.
- Spanish-language skills.
Portfolio
Please include a portfolio showing your process, not only final visuals. We are particularly interested in examples involving:
- Physical-product research and benchmarking.
- Concept development and prototyping.
- Technical documentation.
- Materials and component decisions.
- Supplier or manufacturing collaboration.
- Testing, iteration and problem-solving.
