The Opportunity...

  • 8 month term (preferred):                January 2027 to August 2027
  • 4 month term:                                     January 2027 to April 2027
  • Pay Range: $24-35/hr

This co-op position is an opportunity to work in the research and development team of a photonics & fiber optics company that is passionate about meeting the needs of our customers.   

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Contributing to the ongoing development of automated solutions for our next generation optical transport products;
  • Solving complex technical problems;
  • Working in close collaboration with the Firmware R&D teams; and,
  • Improving the quality and robustness of firmware and hardware tests.

What We’re Looking For

Education:       

  • 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. 
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary Institution.                                             

Skills:        

  • Desire to succeed and to do things right the first time;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong object-oriented software design and implementation (any language);
  • Experience with any or all of the following: Git, GitHub, Bash, PowerShell, ChatGPT, Copilot, C#, Python, Javascript, XML, gRPC, Jira;
  • Experience in instrumentation and automation;
  • Understanding of optical systems;
  • Experience with optical instruments and optical fibers.
