We are looking for a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain reliable embedded software for real-time and mission-critical applications.

The role involves working across C, C++, Python, VxWorks, Linux, networking, FPGA, storage systems, and SQL-based data solutions. You will contribute to the development of robust embedded systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards for safety, reliability, coding quality, and hardware-software integration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software using C, C++, and Python.

  • Develop and maintain embedded applications on VxWorks and Linux platforms.
  • Implement real-time software solutions while adhering to MISRA C coding standards and development practices.
  • Develop software for mission-critical applications with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and deterministic behaviour.
  • Implement socket programming and develop networking functionality and protocol stacks.
  • Design and develop communication interfaces for embedded systems and interconnected platforms.
  • Contribute to FPGA programming and development while following applicable DO-254 hardware design assurance practices.
  • Design, implement, and maintain NAS and storage systems for mission and application data.
  • Develop SQL-based data solutions, data storage mechanisms, and storage management frameworks.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, and verification teams for software-hardware integration.
  • Participate in system integration, debugging, verification, validation, and testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex software, networking, storage, and hardware-integration issues.
  • Analyse system behaviour and identify root causes of performance, reliability, and integration issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, source code, configuration records, and development artefacts.
  • Follow established software development, configuration management, coding, testing, and quality processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of embedded software architecture, development practices, and system reliability.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT• 1+ years of professional experience in embedded software development or a closely related engineering role.

  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience developing embedded software on VxWorks and/or Linux.
  • Understanding of real-time software development and embedded system concepts.
  • Experience developing software in accordance with MISRA C coding standards.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, communication protocols, and socket programming.
  • Experience with FPGA programming/development and familiarity with DO-254 standards.
  • Knowledge of NAS, storage systems, data management, and storage architecture.
  • Experience working with SQL databases and developing data-storage solutions.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with software, systems, hardware, FPGA, and verification teams.
  • Good understanding of software-hardware integration and system-level testing.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on reliability, quality, and engineering discipline.
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, avionics, or other mission-critical embedded systems will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to DO-178C software development assurance standards is desirable.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools and software Verification & Validation (V&V) processes is preferred.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
