Senior Power BI Developer - Remote - Octopus by RTG

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer to take ownership of our Power BI environment: building and maintaining reports and dashboards, administering the platform itself, and ensuring reporting continuity as we evolve from source-level reporting toward a structured data warehouse architecture. The core, day to day focus of this role is Power BI. Alongside that, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling, so they can engage meaningfully with the wider data architecture and flex into adjacent work as our Data Warehouse initiative progresses.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, using DAX and Power Query (M) to build accurate, performant data models.
• Own Power BI platform administration, including datasets, workspaces, gateway configuration, and
• service accounts, moving critical processes off personal accounts and onto properly governed service accounts.
• Implement and maintain Row-Level Security and other governance controls to meet organizational security and audit requirements.
• Document dashboard logic, data sources, and business definitions so reporting knowledge is not held by a single person.
• Act as a direct point of contact for Power BI related issues raised by business and technical teams, including licensing, access, refresh failures, and new reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements, and translate them into well documented, maintainable solutions.
• Support the evolution of the Power BI architecture as the company's Data Warehouse initiative progresses, including adapting to new data sources and semantic models as they come online.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
• Strong command of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
• Solid SQL and Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling, including star schema and snowflake schema design.
• Working understanding of ETL/ELT processes and how they feed BI reporting layers.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security and data governance practices.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.

Preferred

• Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300) or equivalent.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric is a plus, though not required at this stage.
• Experience working in a BI environment undergoing a Data Warehouse or platform migration.
