Summary of Position:

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to build custom, high-performing websites from Figma designs. The ideal candidate has strong web development fundamentals, an eye for detail, and experience building responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect websites.

We follow established development standards and embrace modern tools, including AI-assisted development, while maintaining a strong emphasis on understanding the code we write.

This is a hybrid role. You will be expected to work in our San Diego office two days per week.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop custom WordPress website themes from design through launch.

• Translate Figma designs into responsive, pixel-perfect websites.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established development standards.

• Optimize websites for page speed, Core Web Vitals, SEO, and accessibility.

• Collaborate with designers, developers, and project managers.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Position Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional web development experience.

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress.

• Experience developing custom WordPress themes and templates.

• Proficiency with CSS on advanced layouts without the need for frameworks such as Bootstrap or Skeleton.

• Experience working with Figma and translating designs into code.

• Understanding of website performance optimization and accessibility best practices.

• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.

• Strong debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong experience with website hosting, staging environments, and deployments.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields Plugin and Gravity Forms Plugin.

• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, Sass, Twig/Timber, or similar tools.

• Familiarity with modern build tools and third-party API integrations into various CRMs.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.

• Understanding of DNS

Interview Process:

We'd like to see examples of your work, whether that's client websites, personal projects, a portfolio, or GitHub repositories.

During the interview, we'll discuss your technical knowledge, experience, and development approach. Candidates may be asked to complete a small take-home assignment, followed by a walkthrough where you'll explain your code, decisions, and problem-solving process.

AI-assisted tools are welcome, but a strong understanding of your work is essential.

\n$55,000 - $70,000 a year

Compensation:

• This target compensation range is subject to multiple factors, including role, level, experience, and location. As you go through the interview process, your recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed target compensation range that will get your excited about your future with us.
