As part of the expansion of our Material Characterization – RHEO / TAN business, we are looking for a Sales Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our commercial team and develop our customer base across the North-West region of France.

Reporting Line

  • Reports directly to the Team Leader – Material Characterization
  • Member of the specialized Material Characterization Sales Team

Territory

The assigned territory covers the following French departments :

  • 29, 22, 56, 35, 53, 50, 14, 61, 27, 76, 60, 80, 62, 59 and 02.

This is a field-based position involving frequent travel throughout the territory.

Job Description

Business Development

  • Execute the commercial strategy within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and strengthen long-term relationships with industrial, academic, and research customers.
  • Identify, qualify, and prospect new business opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with decision-makers and end users.
  • Manage sales opportunities and maintain an accurate sales pipeline using the CRM system.

Technical Sales & Product Demonstrations

  • Promote Anton Paar's Material Characterization solutions to customers and prospects.
  • Deliver technical presentations and commercial demonstrations.
  • Perform application trials both at customer sites and in Anton Paar laboratories.
  • Organize and participate in technical seminars, workshops, customer events, exhibitions, and user meetings.

Sales & Negotiation

  • Prepare customized technical and commercial proposals.
  • Lead technical, commercial, and contractual negotiations.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle through to order closing.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term account development.

Customer Support & Market Intelligence

  • Provide technical guidance and customer training on Anton Paar instruments.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
  • Share strategic market intelligence and business opportunities with headquarters.
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within the CRM.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (Bac+5 equivalent) in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' successful experience in the sales of scientific instruments or technical solutions.
  • Strong commercial drive combined with a solid technical background.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, well organized, and able to work independently.
  • Team player with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent English is essential, as you will regularly interact with Anton Paar headquarters in Austria.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Candidates should preferably be based in the Île-de-France region or nearby, allowing efficient coverage of the North-West territory and regular travel to customer sites.
