Driven by our brand values of being real, generous, curious and sustainably minded, as a team we take a collaborative approach, have a culture where ideas are heard, and are united in our leading goal to be the world's most human-centred, #1 premium appliance brand.

We are entering an exciting new phase in the evolution of our luxury brand, as we expand our presence in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland into a state-of-the-art three-site campus. Our Global HQ in Penrose, Distribution Centre in East Tāmaki and our world leading Global Experience Centre in Grey Lynn.

Connected across the Auckland isthmus, our campus sites combine to tell the story of our people, our brand and our future legacy. These bespoke, purpose-built developments located strategically across the region will see Fisher & Paykel create a centre for excellence in appliance design and innovation in Aotearoa New Zealand.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Digital Function as a Senior Designer (UX/UI) on a 12-month contract, based at our new Global HQ in Penrose.

Reporting to the UX Practice Lead, you'll work alongside a talented, multi-disciplinary team to create premium digital experiences across our web and ecommerce channels. You'll play a key role in shaping how customers discover, explore and engage with Fisher & Paykel online, combining strong UX thinking with exceptional visual and interface design.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute across the full design process, from discovery and ideation through to high-fidelity design, validation and implementation. You'll help challenge and refine digital experiences, ensuring they are intuitive, accessible, commercially effective and unmistakably Fisher & Paykel.

This is where you come in...

You'll be an experienced UX designer with a strong visual design capability and a compelling portfolio that demonstrates exceptional aesthetic sensibility, attention to detail and a well-honed design craft.

You'll bring:

  • 6+ years' experience in UX/UI design, with demonstrated strengths in visual and interface design.
  • Proven experience designing digital products and experiences, ideally across web, ecommerce or other customer-facing digital environments.
  • A strong understanding of customer journeys, digital commerce and how design can create seamless experiences that support both customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Extensive experience working in Figma, with robust and disciplined design workflows and file management.
  • Experience contributing to or evolving a Design System, including tokens, components, variants, modes and documentation.
  • The ability to translate customer needs, business requirements and user insights into compelling concepts and wireframes.
  • A strong understanding of usability, accessibility and customer behaviour in digital environments.
  • Experience working with developers and an understanding of developer workflows, design handoff and implementation.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and build confidence with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively across Digital, Product, Brand, Content, Marketing, Customer Care and other cross-functional teams.
  • A naturally curious mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing thinking and propose fresh, forward-looking digital experiences.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance the design process, including AI-assisted prototyping, generative design exploration and staying current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who cares deeply about the customer and the details. You'll be comfortable working with ambiguity, take ownership of your work from design intent through to implementation, and be motivated by creating digital experiences that are genuinely useful, intuitive and beautifully considered.
