Job Title: Network Administrator – Level II Location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), NJ (on-site) Supporting: The Defense Health Agency (DHA) **Secret Security Clearance**
Overview
CompTech is seeking a Network Administrator – Level II to support operations at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey. The Network Administrator will be responsible for the deployment, administration, maintenance, and sustainment of information networks, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments. This position will support the day-to-day availability, integrity, performance, capacity, and security of network infrastructure while performing network monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation in accordance with established operational and security requirements
Scope of Work
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deploy and sustain new and existing information networks, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments.
- Administer the day-to-day operation, sustainment, integrity, security, and availability of network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, maintain, and update network hardware, software, and associated system components.
- Monitor network performance and availability and perform capacity analysis to support reliable network operations.
- Maintain the network security posture and implement required security controls.
- Perform network infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to maintain appropriate operational and security posture.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, configuration, and availability issues.
- Support user account administration and applicable backup and recovery activities.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance guides, technical documentation, and knowledge-base articles.
- Coordinate with technical teams and other stakeholders to resolve network-related issues and maintain reliable network services.
- Perform other network administration and operational support activities as required.
Experience, Education, and Certification Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in network administration, network operations, or a related discipline demonstrating intermediate-level proficiency.
- Experience deploying, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments.
- Experience with network performance monitoring, capacity analysis, infrastructure maintenance, and network security.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree and/or applicable equivalency of four (4) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Certifications: Preferably Security+ & CCNA
Commercial baseline certification examples include:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA CySA+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Additional certifications related to networking, cybersecurity, or enterprise infrastructure technologies are a plus.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance
Salary:
- $83,000 - $88,000 plus full Benefits, PTO, 401k+
