Based at our Heusenstamm location, we are seeking a Project Manager Synthetics (m/f/d) for our Research Development & Engineering team within the synthetics category. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, coordination, and technical oversight of RD&E projects, while ensuring collaboration across the BMI Group and monitoring industry innovation.  

Your key responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Project Management & Process Development: Prepare, manage, and coordinate RD&E projects from initial recipe development and production process design to final validation, ensuring seamless implementation within production environments.
  • Collaboration: Lead projects in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party suppliers, universities, and research institutes across the full BMI Group.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and present comprehensive project reports, as well as detailed product and process specifications derived from research results.
  • Laboratory Leadership: Conduct and oversee laboratory work related to R&D projects, including the rigorous validation of applications.
  • Innovation & Monitoring: Stay abreast of industry trends, professional literature, and patents to positively influence development. Represent BMI at trade fairs and conferences while consulting with internal sales teams (PLG), suppliers, and customers.

Your Profile:

 • Educational Background: University degree in Chemistry, Technical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a PhD. Proven expert knowledge and extensive experience in the field of waterproofing technology is a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Industry Expertise: Solid understanding of the synthetic membrane waterproofing business and practical experience in the application of synthetic membranes.
  • Technical Passion: A strong drive to acquire and deepen knowledge in synthetic technologies, specifically PVC (monomeric and polymeric) and TPO.
  • Partner Management: Demonstrated experience working effectively with external partners and international suppliers.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (the primary language for group-wide project discussion).
  • Core Competencies: Strong project management and organizational skills. Analytical problem-solving ability and leadership qualities. High level of integrity, motivation, and safety consciousness. 
  • Excellent team spirit and the ability to work in a cross-border, multicultural environment.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly within the BMI Group.
