Full description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Analytics & Business Intelligence, Digital Product Operations based in United States.

This leadership role sits at the center of digital product operations, using analytics and business intelligence to improve how product organizations plan, deliver, and evolve. You will own the measurement infrastructure supporting more than 15 product teams and turn operational data into meaningful business decisions. The role combines dashboard development, metrics strategy, data governance, organizational change measurement, and coaching. You will define what healthy product practices and successful adoption look like, then use evidence to identify gaps and drive targeted improvements. Working across Product, Technology, Design, and operational teams, you will operate as a trusted thought partner in a fast-moving, evolving environment. Your work will directly influence planning quality, product prioritization, operational maturity, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and build product analytics dashboards that measure roadmap maturity, planning quality, Productboard field completeness, roadmap changes, and other indicators across 15+ digital product teams.
  • Partner with Product leaders, Product Managers, and Product Owners to establish meaningful baselines, targets, and definitions of healthy product practices.
  • Develop self-service dashboards that enable teams to independently understand their performance and translate insights into better planning and product decisions.
  • Create executive-ready reporting and dashboards that clearly communicate key trends, opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Build and maintain a measurement framework for assessing adoption of new operational practices, tooling standards, processes, and change initiatives.
  • Define adoption metrics before major initiatives launch and establish clear measures for awareness, behavior change, and sustained adoption.
  • Analyze adoption gaps to determine whether challenges are driven by awareness, capability, process design, resistance, or other factors, then recommend and drive appropriate interventions.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of change management initiatives and take ownership of follow-through to determine whether interventions deliver the intended results.
  • Own the ongoing maintenance, accuracy, and reliability of product and operational dashboards.
  • Establish governance standards for metric definitions, calculation methods, and data sources to ensure consistency and prevent measurement drift.
  • Conduct regular data-quality audits and proactively resolve inconsistencies, stale information, or gaps before they affect leadership or team decisions.
  • Partner with tooling and governance stakeholders to ensure data standards and product-management systems support reliable measurement.
  • Maintain transparent documentation of metrics, methodologies, and data sources in shared knowledge repositories.
  • Coach Product Managers, Product Owners, and operational teams on interpreting analytics and using data to improve planning, prioritization, and decision-making.
  • Identify patterns in how teams use, misunderstand, or overlook metrics and translate those findings into targeted coaching and improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in product analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, or a related discipline within a digital product or technology organization.
  • Demonstrated experience measuring and driving organizational change, including distinguishing awareness from actual behavior change and designing interventions when adoption falls short.
  • Strong ability to operate in ambiguous or developing environments, defining meaningful metrics and measurement frameworks where established standards may not yet exist.
  • Proven experience building dashboards and analytics frameworks that are actively adopted and used by teams to make decisions, rather than simply delivering technically accurate reporting.
  • Strong understanding of product management practices, including roadmap maturity, backlog health, planning consistency, and product delivery processes.
  • Strong data governance capabilities, including precise metric definition, documentation, quality control, and prevention of measurement drift.
  • Familiarity with Productboard, Jira, and Confluence, including the ability to extract meaningful business and operational signals from product-management tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and APIs for independently extracting, validating, and analyzing data.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to move from data observation to diagnosis and action.
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into concise, practical guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build trust across functions, and drive adoption without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5–7 times per year for business meetings and in-person collaboration.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Passion for mission-driven work and expanding educational and career opportunities.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, and willingness to experiment with and independently adopt new digital tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, a learner’s mindset, collaborative approach, and strong commitment to continuous improvement and measurable impact.

Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary range of $88,000–$145,000, with final compensation determined by location, experience, qualifications, and market factors.
  • Remote work opportunity aligned with core Eastern Time hours.
  • Hybrid flexibility for eligible employees located near company offices, with in-office collaboration typically available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • A mission-driven environment focused on expanding educational and career opportunities.
  • Fair and transparent compensation practices, with salary adjustments based on location.
  • Supportive, collaborative culture emphasizing learning, feedback, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunities to work with emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions.
  • Meaningful opportunities to influence digital product strategy, operational excellence, and experiences serving millions of students and educators.
  • Occasional travel for in-person collaboration, business meetings, and organizational events.
