The Product Manager is tasked with overseeing the design, development, and management of specific products for Private Funds and related assets. This role encompasses activities ranging from product definition, implementation guide, planning to production and go-to-market strategies. The Product Manager plays a crucial role in defining the roadmap for their product(s), essential for achieving targets related to bookings, client NPS, and gross margin within their component.
This role will collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and prospects to identify new product capability requirements aimed at driving organic growth. Close cooperation with development teams ensures the successful creation and introduction of these new capabilities to the market. Additionally, the Product Manager takes on the responsibility of testing and deploying these fresh features to clients, while also promoting future growth to a wider audience of CW clients and prospects.
Responsibilities:
- Owns a suite of tools for private funds in the Clearwater system.
- Translate the nuances of alternative assets (e.g., capital calls and distributions, unfunded commitments, NAV and economic NAV, waterfalls, fee structures, secondary transactions) into clear product requirements and prioritized backlog.
- Collaborates with their development team on the design and building of features & ensures the team understands the business value of features.
- Defines the product roadmap for their product and contributes to the broader company roadmap.
- Communicates regularly about the roadmap and upon release of functionality.
- Speaks with clients about their product’s use case and future needs.
- Measures success of new feature releases.
Required Skills:
- Deep understanding of investment accounting principles and financial instruments relevant to alternatives, including capital account activity, NAV and book value, fee and carry structures, and performance measurement.
- Proficiency with modern product and project management tools and methodologies (e.g., agile, Jira, Aha, backlog management, discovery and validation practices).
- Proficiency in using modern web development technologies and techniques, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's/master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with comfort working with large, detailed datasets and complex cash flow/valuation scenarios.
- Experience in implementing and consuming large-scale web services.
- Experience in full system design and architecture.
- Experience with database scaling and design.
- Relational database experience (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
