We are looking for a solution-oriented Field Application Engineer / Solutions Engineer to join our team in China.

We are particularly interested in experienced engineers, but also welcome recent graduates with strong technical potential, the right mindset and a willingness to learn.

About the role

As a Field Application Engineer / Solutions Engineer, you will bridge customer requirements, Kvaser hardware and software applications.

You will work closely with customers to understand their applications, develop tailored solutions and support the integration of Kvaser products into their systems.

The role combines hands-on engineering, software development, system integration and technical customer collaboration. You will work with colleagues across sales, development and other technical functions to deliver complete solutions rather than standalone hardware. You will work with Kvaser's expanding product portfolio, including Edge and Arcus, to develop customer-specific solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Customer solutions – Understand customer applications and translate technical requirements into Kvaser-based solutions.

• Software development & integration – Develop and integrate software applications using Kvaser hardware and technologies.

• Edge-based Linux solutions – Develop customer-specific applications involving Linux, data processing, logging and remote connectivity.

• Mini HIL solutions – Build lightweight hardware-in-the-loop solutions tailored to customer testing requirements.

• CAN/LIN applications – Combine Kvaser interfaces with CANKing 7 and its extension functionality to create complete application solutions.

• Technical collaboration – Work closely with customers and internal teams to investigate challenges and develop practical solutions.

• Knowledge sharing – Document solutions and share technical knowledge internally.

Who we think you are

• Engineering background – A degree in software engineering, electronics, computer engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical knowledge.

• Programming & development – Experience or a strong foundation in software development and debugging.

• Systems thinking – An interest in understanding how software, hardware and customer applications work together.

• Problem-solving – Ability to understand technical challenges and develop practical solutions.

• Customer focus – An interest in understanding customer needs and communicating technical concepts clearly.

• Working style – Curious, proactive and collaborative, with a willingness to learn and take responsibility.

Advantageous experience

• CAN, CAN FD, LIN or other industrial communication technologies.

• Linux-based development and embedded systems.

• Python, C/C++ or other relevant programming languages.

• Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and system integration.

• Technical customer support, application engineering or solutions development.

• Experience with Kvaser products, including Edge, Arcus or CANKing 7.
