About the role

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be supporting the business to influence the performance with financial analysis and insights, budgeting / forecasting, KPI and variance analysis, management reporting and financial appraisal. A key part of this role is the DSP (Delivering of Sustainable Profitability) programme, identifying savings and revenue opportunities, building the case for them, and driving them through to banked benefit. This is a business partnering role for someone who wants to create a positive impact on the financial performance of the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own a defined section of the P&L: analyse actual revenue and cost performance, get to the real root causes of variances, and identify the corrective actions to improve the performance.
  • Drive the DSP agenda: identify and appraise cost-saving and revenue initiatives, build the business case, embed the benefit into forecast, track realisation against target and escalate slippage early so committed savings are delivered.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to any of the QE Commercial, Technical, Flight Operations and Inflight Services areas - influencing decisions in a proactive manner.
  • Define and own the KPIs that matter with the business and use them to steer performance.
  • Challenge annual budget and forecast submissions against management strategy and targets - test the assumptions and challenge the targets.
  • Protect margin by challenging spending against target, quantifying the gap and recommending the actions to close it.
  • Build and challenge investment appraisals and business cases (NPV, IRR, payback, break-even and sensitivity) with attention to detail and make a clear, defendable recommendation to senior management.
  • Review contracts and commercial agreements for financial impact and flagging risks.
  • Prepare monthly and annual performance reporting for Qatar Executive, with commentary that explains what is driving the results and what corrective actions are needed.
  • Present financial performance and initiative delivery to senior leadership, and support ad hoc analysis that shapes divisional decisions.
