Senior Project ManagerJob Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Project Manager to join our Project & Development Services team in Sydney.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex construction and property projects across a diverse range of sectors and client portfolios. You will manage projects from initial planning and design through procurement, construction and final handover, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
This is a senior, client-facing position requiring strong commercial judgement, technical project delivery expertise and the ability to operate independently while managing multiple stakeholders.Job Description
Security Clearance Requirement
Australian citizenship is mandatory for this position, as the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through the full lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Establish and manage project scopes, programs, budgets, risk registers and delivery strategies.
- Lead client and stakeholder meetings, prepare agendas and provide clear project updates and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain master project budgets, timelines, forecasts and financial reports.
- Manage consultants, contractors and suppliers, including selection, engagement and performance oversight.
- Review project documentation, drawings, progress claims, variations, change orders and invoices.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, safety requirements, governance frameworks and quality standards.
- Prepare detailed project reports for clients, senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Build trusted client relationships and contribute to the presentation and development of project management services.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to project team members where required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years’ project management experience within the construction, property or built-environment sectors.
- Demonstrated experience delivering a diverse range of complex projects across different sectors or client portfolios.
- Strong construction knowledge and end-to-end project delivery capability.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasts, financial controls and commercial outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of project programming and proficiency in Microsoft Project and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent client-facing communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence and capability to work independently, make informed decisions and manage competing priorities.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring project management professionals will be highly regarded.
