Responsibilities

In this role, you will help operate and support the company's network infrastructure across 600+ shops and corporate locations, with a focus on day-to-day Fortinet firewall administration, SD-WAN connectivity, and LAN/Wi-Fi support.

You will work closely with our IT support, security, and operations teams — and report into our Senior Network Engineer and IT Infrastructure leadership — to deliver reliable connectivity that meets the needs of the business. The ideal candidate has a solid technical foundation in network administration, hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and access points, and is eager to grow their skills in SD-WAN, cloud networking, and automation under the guidance of senior engineers.

You should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to troubleshoot common to moderately complex network issues, and good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams. If you are a motivated network engineer looking to grow your career with a fast-paced, dynamic organization, we encourage you to apply. We offer competitive salary and benefits packages, as well as opportunities for advancement and professional development.

In this role, you could expect your primary tasks to include:

  • Support and maintain the company's Fortinet firewall and SD-WAN environment under the guidance of senior engineers, including routine policy changes, firmware updates, and configuration backups.
  • Help manage connectivity at 600+ shops, including configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, access points, and ISP/cellular circuits. [Sr Network...ption V1 1 | Word]
  • Execute shop turn-ups, refreshes, and standard change requests following established templates and runbooks.
  • Respond to network incidents and tickets through the queue, performing first- and second-level troubleshooting and escalating complex issues to the Senior Network Engineer when appropriate.
  • Assist with network infrastructure projects — upgrades, migrations, expansions, and new site builds — owning assigned tasks within a larger project plan.
  • Monitor network performance using tools such as LogicMonitor and FortiAnalyzer/FortiManager, investigate alerts, and help drive issues to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, IP address records, and configuration standards.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and carriers to open tickets, validate circuits, and follow through to resolution.
  • Partner with IT support, security, and operations teams to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the network.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent hands-on experience considered).
  • 2–4 years of experience in network administration, network operations, or a related field, with hands-on exposure to enterprise firewalls and multi-site connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls — or comparable platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Meraki) with a clear willingness and ability to ramp on Fortinet.
  • Working experience supporting SD-WAN environments (Fortinet SD-WAN preferred) including basic configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting connectivity at multiple locations, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. [Sr Network...ption V1 1 | Word]
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, protocols, and hardware — switches, routers, firewalls, wireless — and core protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN (IPsec), VLANs, and routing basics (static, OSPF, BGP exposure a plus). [Sr Network...ption V1 1 | Word]
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in AWS or Azure (VNets, route tables, NSGs, VPN/ExpressRoute basics).
  • Ability to troubleshoot common network issues and clearly communicate findings, with sound judgment on when to escalate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team, manage multiple priorities, and follow through on commitments.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and perform maintenance activities during and after business hours on weekdays and weekends based on business need.
  • Ability to attend meetings or working sessions onsite at any of our Crash Champions locations, including corporate buildings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent (NSE 4 strongly preferred or willingness to achieve within first 12 months).
  • Exposure to FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiAP in a multi-site environment.
  • Experience with wireless deployments (FortiAP, Meraki, Ubiquiti, or Cisco).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and ticketing tools (LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, PRTG, ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Basic scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or Jinja templates) to reduce repetitive work.
  • Exposure to VoIP / contact center connectivity (Genesys, SIP, QoS) and an understanding of how the network supports voice quality.
  • Awareness of security frameworks such as PCI-DSS and good security hygiene around segmentation, change management, and least privilege.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to mentor junior team members and Service Desk staff as you grow.
