As a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, you will develop new features, enhance existing functionality, and help improve the performance and reliability of AI-powered products. You will collaborate closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and distributed technical teams to turn product requirements into effective solutions. This hands-on individual contributor role offers opportunities to influence technical decisions and take ownership of features from conception through deployment. You will work with a modern technology stack while balancing code quality, scalability, and delivery speed. The position is fully remote, with a strong emphasis on autonomy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities: You will contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of production applications, ensuring that technical solutions support product objectives and deliver reliable user experiences.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Build new product features and improve existing platform functionality.

• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions and estimate development efforts.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code suitable for production environments.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and technical decision-making.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Take ownership of features throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements and implementation to testing and deployment.

• Work closely with distributed engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Contribute to continuous improvement in development practices, tooling, and engineering workflows.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring substantial hands-on Ruby on Rails experience, a strong understanding of production software development, and the ability to deliver robust solutions in a fast-paced environment.

• At least 5 years of commercial experience in backend or full-stack software engineering.

• Strong practical experience with Ruby on Rails, preferably recent experience building and maintaining production applications.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and scale applications used by real customers.

• Experience owning features from initial requirements through development, testing, and deployment.

• Previous experience in a startup, scale-up, or similarly fast-moving environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance code quality with delivery speed.

• Excellent English communication skills and experience collaborating with international teams.

• Willingness and comfort working with uncensored AI companionship products and explicit NSFW content.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), or machine learning.

• Familiarity with modern Rails development practices and AI-assisted coding tools.

• Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
