Job Purpose

A Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the company's network infrastructure, ensuring its security, and providing technical support for employees. The engineer will work closely with other IT professionals, such as cybersecurity analysts, to ensure that the company's network is secure and functional. Additionally, will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization's local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructure. The role requires a deep understanding of network technologies, protocols, and tools.

ACCOUNTIBILITIES

  • Maintain the company's network infrastructure and ensure its security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues and communicate with employees to provide technical support.
  • Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions.
  • Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure network security by implementing network security protocols and technology.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts to ensure network security.
  • Perform network audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Manage network routers, switches, firewalls, and other equipment.
  • Provide training to employees on network-related issues and security protocols.
  • Provide emergency 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotating basis.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a network engineer or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and technology
  • Knowledge of network security protocols and technology
  • Experience with networking equipment and Software defined networks
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP, VLANs, VPNs, etc
  • Knowledge of network security protocols like IPsec, SSL, etc.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining network switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Proven ability to work in a team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
