POS is seeking a QA Software Tester to join our growing team in Waterloo, Iowa.

The QA Software Tester collaborates closely with engineering and other team members to assist in developing and refining healthcare communication solutions that enhance patient engagement.

To be successful, you must have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies. A commitment to delivering high-quality results and contributing positively to the team's success is essential.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Business Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of business operations to inform effective testing strategies and software improvements.
  • System Specification Review: Thoroughly review and analyze system specifications to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Testing Execution: Conduct thorough manual and automated testing of applications, including websites and mobile applications, to identify bugs, glitches, and inconsistencies in functionality and user interface (UI) elements.
  • Product Delivery Coordination: Work with the Scrum Team to ensure products meet specifications, are defect-free, and perform optimally by adhering to best practices in testing.
  • Documentation Preparation: Create, maintain, and execute detailed test cases, test plans, procedures, and documentation to maintain consistency and traceability in the testing process.
  • Issue Resolution: Verify software modifications in new versions and assist the Operations team in resolving production-level issues and troubleshooting customer concerns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineering and other cross-functional teams to maintain quality throughout the Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Usability Testing: Perform usability tests to ensure that applications are user-friendly, intuitive, and aligned with best practices in design and user experience (UX).
  • Innovative Solutions: Take ownership of challenging assignments, utilizing discretion and independent judgment to implement innovative solutions that shape strategic direction.
  • Proactive Support: Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively participate in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and webinars to acquire new knowledge and refine existing skills.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Analytical Aptitude: Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in the context of Agile methodologies.
  • Detail-oriented: Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
