Start your adventure with Zip
Zip is looking for a Group Product Manager to lead the next chapter of our direct-to-consumer product experience.
You will own the product strategy and execution for assigned new financial products adjacent to Zip’s core Buy Now, Pay Later offering while ensuring that our growing portfolio feels like one cohesive, intuitive experience for customers. Your mandate will span the full product lifecycle: identifying unmet customer needs, validating new product opportunities, launching lean and valuable MVPs, scaling successful products, and continuing to improve our established BNPL experience.
This is both a product-leadership and people-leadership role. You will manage and mentor a team of one to three Product Managers, setting clear direction while remaining close enough to the work to personally lead Zip’s most ambiguous and strategically important product initiatives.
You will work closely with Product Design, Engineering, Data, Marketing, Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations, and external partners. Together, you will build products that customers understand and value, deliver sustainable commercial results, and meet the high standards of trust and responsibility required in consumer financial services.
Interesting problems you’ll get to solve
- Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Zip’s direct-to-consumer product portfolio, including both the core BNPL experience and new adjacent financial products.
- Identify and validate new product opportunities by combining customer research, behavioral data, market analysis, commercial potential, and Zip’s differentiated capabilities.
- Lead new financial products from zero to one—developing the product thesis, defining target customers and use cases, testing key assumptions, shaping MVP scope, launching to market, and iterating based on evidence.
- Create a coherent multi-product customer experience, defining how customers discover, understand, adopt, and move between Zip products without creating a fragmented collection of features.
- Partner deeply with Product Design and Research to simplify complex financial concepts and build experiences that are clear, accessible, transparent, and grounded in the needs of customers.
- Establish portfolio-level goals and success measures across acquisition, activation, adoption, engagement, retention, cross-sell, customer lifetime value, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop a clear understanding of each product’s economics and performance, working with Finance, Credit Risk, and Data to evaluate revenue, losses, delinquency, utilization, cost-to-serve, and other relevant portfolio measures.
- Balance team capacity and product investment across products at different lifecycle stages—including early discovery, initial launch, responsible scaling, and mature-product optimization.
- Partner with Marketing, Growth, CRM, and Partnerships to shape product positioning, go-to-market plans, onboarding, lifecycle engagement, cross-sell, and customer education.
- Work with Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Treasury, and Operations from the beginning of product development to ensure regulatory, credit, operational, funding, and customer considerations are incorporated into product decisions.
- Make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed and scalability, partnering with Engineering to determine when Zip should build reusable platform capabilities and when a targeted solution is the right way to learn.
- Develop appropriate uses of AI across the customer experience, including opportunities to improve personalization, product discovery, financial understanding, customer support, and internal team productivity.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers, setting clear expectations and helping each person strengthen their strategic thinking, customer empathy, analytical judgment, and execution.
- Remain a hands-on player-coach, directly leading critical discovery, strategy, or delivery work when an initiative requires senior product judgment.
- Raise the standard of product management across the group by improving goal-setting, roadmap quality, decision-making, experimentation, product reviews, written communication, and cross-functional operating practices.
- Communicate product strategy, progress, performance, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to working teams and senior leadership.
What you’ll bring to the team
- 10+ years of product-management experience, including meaningful experience building consumer-facing digital products.
- At least three years of experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing Product Managers, with evidence that people and teams performed better under your leadership.
- Must have experience leading direct-to-consumer financial products within consumer lending, credit, BNPL, banking, payments, earned-wage access, or another regulated financial-services category.

- Expertise using quantitative analysis, customer research, usability insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to identify unmet needs and shape product
- Experience defining and managing business and customer outcomes such as activation, conversion, adoption, engagement, retention, cross-sell, lifetime value, revenue, and unit economics.
- Familiarity with the economics and risk dynamics of consumer financial products, such as utilization, delinquency, losses, repayment performance, pricing, cost-to-serve, and responsible monetization.
- Experience partnering with Marketing and Growth teams on go-to-market strategy, onboarding, lifecycle engagement, product-led growth, and portfolio cross-sell.
- Curiosity and fluency applying AI and LLM tools to your own productivity, along with the product judgment required to identify valuable, safe, and trustworthy customer-facing AI applications.
- Strong cross-functional communication and influence, with the ability to work credibly with Product Design, Engineering, Data, Marketing, Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Treasury, Finance, senior leadership, and external partners.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with significant ambiguity, incomplete information, and multiple concurrent priorities.
